Bio-luminescent Blood

No one wants to see it

Touch it

Sense it

The Blood

No one wants to deal with the lost souls

Loss is simply

In history,

A hole

Run

Crawl

Spend your last breaths

Searching in hopes to seek food & water for family & Community

Used

for vacations, & business plans

60 years of metal & chemicals

Exploding on the land

Poisoning our water

Slowly rushing the death of our people

For military-training-after all,

We want America safe

Yet when the devil

Demolishes the land

It's just to far for us to reach

The people's hands

Like an innocent woman

Forced & then called a whore

You landed, used us, & after destruction-after life hit,

You were dismissive of our shores.

Frankly,

I don't care

If I drown you in my pride & my view

You are fine with letting my people die in the ruins-

You will hear the reality of what you do.

I don't deal in revenge

Life is complex as it is.

The suffocated rise & shine to the world

Like the bioluminesense in our waters

Time will watch us unfurl.

Sunshadow subconscious

A walk with the breeze

A breath to ease

The rustlings in my soul

thoughts that visit me at night

and stir me

deep below

Shadows

Dancing with my subconscious

leaving me yearning.

Yesterday

Not a place to revisit,

A time for learning

Echoes

Distant memories whispering

Smoke

Deteriorating the corners of my mind

Shadows

Travel miles to make me feel you

Moonlight

Amongst the crisp air, I would need you

And as I live my life away,

Nightly sunshadows remind me of yesterday.

When life ages my mind, my heart, this ghost of a shell

The moonlight reminds me of your heaven through hell.

Last Christmas, Mark Zuckerberg posted of Facebook “Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah from Priscilla, Max, Beast and me,” he wrote, naming his wife, daughter and dog. Then a commenter asked him: Aren’t you an atheist? Zuckerberg identified himself as an atheist for years, but last Christmas he wrote back: “No. I was raised Jewish and then I went through a period where I questioned things, but now I believe religion is very important.” What happened...in 30-300 words...and style

Soul to be

Youth & possibility

Excitement & Creativity

You HAVE the world,

You FEEL the world-

What you don't feel,

Is the need.

Eden in her eyes,

A relief, you sigh.

As you bask in the heat of the sheets,

Your heart pounds:

Beconing every corner of your soul;

Echoing throughout every inch

Of your mind:

This is more

Than just "between her knees."

Propulsion and progression,

You succeed beyond your dreams.

The world, literally in your hands,

And your love has set

Your life to be:

Three.

And in an instant,

You FEEL the world's weight.

Feel every valve of your heart,

Working overtime.

Every cell of your body,

Filled with light:

When you look at

This bundle of joy-yours.

You gaze upon the world,

And from your view,

You see every corner.

The good.

The bad.

The dark.

The junkyard thoughts & capabilities of souls.

What you once thought

You had no need for,

NOW

After having the world,

You realize.

You seek.

When that small soul you made entered this world,

An awakening happened in your soul;

You sense, you know,

Without a doubt.

All of the money and resources this world could provide,

Cannot shield the apple of your eye.

Souls can be heartless & cruel

Words alone can sting

All we can do, on this unpredictable life, is one thing:

Pray.

Teach.

Learn.

Grow.

Guide.

Lead our children in the right direction...

Because a good soul

Is something no one can buy.

Lineage

I sit & lie to the world. Calculated, composed. When in actuality, I feel the primal pull of my blood echoing in my ear: the world carries your last whispers. Your time on this earth is almost up.

The gears in my gut churn endlessly, as I realize the reality of the coming moments. I planned to visit you & have you meet my daughter earlier this year. I called you in excitement, but I did the worst thing I could have. I FOUGHT!-I but let myself lose.

He took himself to a vulnerable place to get what he wanted. Even though I told him I feared that all of your hospital visits meant you would pass soon. He boomed with reason & rationale towards what our own family, needed. Things that life would have straightened out anyway, had we let them be.

As I gave in, I felt a wave of unbrewed tension wash over me. I told myself, if you passed, HE would be proven wrong. But how would that prove me?

Now, I sense the aftermath of defeat-hollow.

I remember the warmth in your voice when I said I wanted you to meet your great granddaughter.

I didn't call back. How could I justify letting him win?

What I can rest assured in, is that I will NEVER let the flame die. My heart shattering & that fire in my core, that was you. You passed on a fierceness & a burning pride, for a reason. The essence of my existence is thanks to your sacrifices.

So, with my hands, heart, & soul chained, I lie to the world. As mothers, that's what we must do sometimes-to protect our young. To provide a better life, looking at the long run rather than acting on impulse.

Shattered Glass

Every time we touch this subject

I hear a faint, sharp, crack

I think upon the sunset

And the road we've tracked.

You act like you're calm

But the

volume

of your voice

Tends to put us in harms way

You grabbed my arms with care

But uttered lines that went there

Crossed the realm of what

I feel is safe travel

I only voice my soul,

Bare my emotions

As I vowed to do

When I vowed to be with you

If we share the drive on this road

I should have a say

On where it goes,

Too

But when you swerve, take exits

Or make turns

Only sometimes

Do you ask

On this unexpected

Road turned gravel

You claimed

You'd take our daughter w. You

Regardless of

If I would be upset

Regardless of

Putting her in danger

Breaking my soul

& expecting me to forget

Your mother calls you

You see your family ahead

As I see myself in the rearview mirror

A sign of whats ahead

The smoke in your eyes

Keeps you awake

As you drive on the gravel

I feel my core shake

The more I voice my concern

The more you speed up,

The sharper the turns

In silence, I learn.

You are determined for

Your destination

You cry thinking

That I'll leave & take her

But I see pure gravel

On the horizon

I hear the glass shattering

And i dont want to end up dead

Cliffs all around

I dont know what to do

When I try to soothe you

Only some things get through

Yet my daughter is in danger

Do I stay

Or take her & leave

Either way, what would she think of me?

They claim i'm a bad mother

If I make her go

Yet this desination

Robs my soul

I can't help but feel danger

As we speed through the night

As I see the dark in your eyes

Feel the judgement & sighs

While I fight for her life

Feeling primal

And hollow

Alone in this struggle

Lord show me a sign

For a united tomorrow

Lost in the depths of the ocean

The best thrill in life is the risk to lose, followed by the euphoria of winning.

I know this, because I chased that feeling with you.

The smooth silk of your words, & your eyes ocean blue:

These were the first things that entered my stream of consciousness, & locked me in.

Little did I know how far out to sea you would drag me, but even when I was, I didn't care.

Everyone has a different idea of love

But what you & I both, knew, both know,

Is that love is not fire.

You can't "keep" the "spark."

A real desire, like the one you give,

Comes & goes like the tide-

Soft, soothing, gentle:

The whisper & mist

Of it's essence, pure bliss.

Whether it's a secret, shared moment,

When you pull me in with your eyes,

Like a droplet of rain,

or you wash over me,

Taking full reign, I am fully, & completely yours.

You made it this way-

The endless times you slivered

Those tactful words in my ear

To keep me near you,

even in my dreams, right before I drifted away.

And then, you can pull me in,

Slowly, more forcefully, more violent when you want your way

Making me feel your aggression,

Reminding me whose I am, at the end of the day.

Love is not starlight & sunshine.

In my moments, with you,

I learned is real, raw. & true.

The closest analogy, is water.

Aside from God,

You are the closest thing to bringing me life.

And most times, you are gentle

Mild, nourishing as a massaging wave over my soul.

When I immerse myself in you,

You quench every single fantasy & desire...

Even the realms I knew not were inside me.

But just like the ocean,

From a distance,

I couldn't see your depth.

I had no idea the gentle pull, could lure me so far.

From everything I would need, & everything I know;

with nothing to sustain me,

In a storm I am reduced to survival mode.

Thrown around

Pulled down

Sharks & dangerous creatures abound, ready to zero in.

Until I'm too deep, in the darkness-

Unable to breathe,

Silenced.

Slowly descending...

Yet, somehow,

I see a light-LIFE, in that darkness.

Light, from you.

An ability to exist-to adapt.

My soul changed,

And I somehow find-

Peace.

In this new world.

Knowing the creatures are close

The ocean is vast,

But you'll protect me

Your love, engulfing me.

I'll stay in this dark,

illuminated world,

because you give me life-

better than never having been thrilled.

The social focus

Shall I consider you?

Take your coat, (or show you the door)?

If I do so, will you see me no more?

Because in our grandparent's time, consideration was shown to all.

But when I open the door,

My heart falls.

Eyes dart towards your reflection in the TV screen,

The stove, the mirror, your phone, but never rise to meet me.

Surrounding whisper (Silence)

The warmth of the morning sunshine on my face,

gently opens my eyelids

I take a deep breath, & it surrounds me-

Silence.

The only thing that seems to understand,

Comprehend, or care

about the needs of my heart, my eyes, my mind, my soul

Silence.

The sound of my exhale

Is like a whipser

telling me it's ok to let go-

Silence.

In a world & in an age

where everything seems to sway you

everyone wants to nudge you

Even without words,

There's a muffled scream

with the roll of their eyes, they judge you

Suggestions, subliminal messages,

horns being honked,

opinions as they aggressively code their talk

But home alone, I get

Silence.

Like a massage to the mind,

An elixir that goes straight

through the bloodstream,

pumped from the heart

This all comes from

Connecting to our soul

Surrounded by what everyone else claims to know

Me.

In silence.
