Confidence
She was an introverted girl.
She didn't speak much, or rather, she didn't speak at all.
She was also shy, and didn't like to look into people's eyes.
And that was why people didn't like her.
But then, it wasn't others people's fault.
Whenever they tried to engage her in conversations,
she would only utter a word or two,
then,
slowly slip away.
No one knew what she was thinking, no one knew what were her feelings.
Soon, people began ignoring her, and treated her like she was invisible.
And that was when she became more unapproachable then ever.
People loved to mock her, not verbally, but through their actions.
Whenever she was around, they transform themselves into actors and actresses,
and act.
They act like they're superior to her.
They will even put up a big show of laughing with their friends,
to try to let her know that it's a shameful thing to not have friends.
It was like they were trying to say, 'See? We all have friends to have fun with. Unlike you, so lonely. Don't you feel abandoned? Haha...'
But, she didn't feel mocked. Little did she feel inferior to others.
And because of that, people hated her even more.
They were angry that their efforts to put down her were futile.
But the truth was, she was having the last laugh.
And the secret to that was because she could accept herself, and walk through life with her head held high.
When life throws you lemons,
make lemonade.
I know this sounds like a cliché, so let’s invent our own.
When life gives you a storm, complete with lightning and thunder,
show life that it will not succeed in creating a storm in you, and you’re as calm and composed as ever.
When life gives you pain, rise up to it, and show life that you can embrace pain.
Because of another cliché,′ no pain, no gain.’
But then of course when life throws you happiness and fun, enjoy it.
There’s no point in arguing with anyone who says that you’re stupid or dull-witted. Save your energy; do something useful that will give you results. When you’ve succeeded in achieving something, it’ll be time for you to laugh. Do well, make your family proud, and make your enemies jealous.

Your smile and laughter
Your smile is like honey, sweet and saccharine. Your laughter is like a flu, contagious and infectious.
A
wave
of fatigue, washed over me...
And I thought nothing could make me smile that day, since nothing could cheer me up.
But then suddenly, I heard you. Your boisterous and cheeky laughter told me that it was you.
Knowing that I couldn’t put on an angry face for you, I struggled to my feet, and walked to the bathroom, and faced myself in the mirror.
’Come on, smile.’I instantly plastered a smile on my lips, but no matter how hard I tried, it looked forced and artificial.
I knew that I couldn’t stay in the bathroom any longer; I knew that you would come looking for me. So I stepped out of the bathroom, with the fake smile plastered on my lips. My jaws began hurting, but i kept it on, all the time.
Slowly,
you
chased
away
whatever
that
was preventing me from smiling.
Like a fire in the winter,
your smile warmed me up.

Soon, I felt my plastered smile going away, and I felt a genuine smile, creep up onto my lips. I felt my energy returning, and I felt a new-found strength.
But then, you were not finished. A giggle escaped your lips, and when I heard it, a giggle escaped my lips, too. I had a feeling to capture the moment with my phone, so I sat down with you in ‘the big armchair’, feeling happier all of a sudden. I wonder if it was the humidity or the excitement radiating out of the both of us, but then a few minutes later, our backs were soaked with persiration, and our hair had become a messy bunch, with perspiration dotting our hairline. We took some hilarious selfies which entertained us for quite some time, then we moved on to simply doing nothing and enjoying each other’s company.
We then began talking. We talked about nothing in particular, but then our talk was so silly, we couldn’t help but burst out laughing. We laughed wildly, folding ourselves into half one second, and then throwing back our heads the other second. Nobody could understand why we were laughing, and that made it even funnier. Though I wanted to stop laughing, you didn’t allow me to.
Like a flu, you spreaded me the ‘laughing illness’
and like 2 crazy girls, we laughed

And it felt incredibly good.
