The Mask

I have a mask,

nobody truely sees

who I can really be.

I have a mask,

hides all my weaknesses

causing some challenges.

I have a mask,

nobody can remove

if they knew they'd disapprove.

I have a mask,

I must always wear

only because I cannot share.

I have a secret,

the mask is what helps conceal it.

There's been plenty written about depression, but how about OCD? Perfection gone wrong? Do you have it? Know someone who does? Write about it.

OCD

Tick Tock Tick

Everything is perfect

Tick Tock Tick

Everything must be perfect

Tock Tick Tock

I give three knocks

Tock Tick Tock

I must give three Knocks

Tick Tick Tick

It can get chaotic

Tock Tock Tock

They want me to talk

say what I go through

explain my compulsions

seek professional help

everyone thinks they can aid

No one gets my brain

No one knows how perfect looks

Orderly and neat is the way to be

Clean and orderly is how it must be

Its taken over my life

And I don’t know what to do about my OCD

I Know Now

I woke up this morning

and was no longer confused.

I awoke and suddenly knew

everything I've put you through.

The long nights without a call

worrying you all,

that is until you saw.

I was high not dead

sleeping soundlessly in my bed.

not a care in the world,

that is until I heard

the weeps and cry from those I love.

I'm 6 months sober and know

I can stay this way till its time to go.

Without You

I was half way through my 5th beer

When I understood why your weren't here

After the lonely nights

Drunkin’ bar fights

Surprised I had you up till now

Don’t know why you stayed yet somehow

I knew, it was all to good to be true

Never hoped to be away from you

Thought I had it all

But I had nothing and am only waiting for your call

But my phone ain’t ringing and you ain’t coming back
