I write, shoot, compose, make, dance, act... Jill of all Trades. Have an exuberantly blessed day!!! P.S. I make most art I use ;)
Not What It Seems...
In a short, not more than 50 words, start with something that seems beautiful but surprises us, or perhaps begin with something that seems sinister and turns out to be quite lovely. However you'd like to go. See my example if you need a hint, but feel free to take the prompt as you wish! God bless and much success! PLEASE tag me @LexiCon in the comments after you've finished your piece). It's been a while since I've hosted a challenge (and really interacted much with the site in general) I pray you've all been well! Much love.

The Twelve Days of Christmas...
I did this last year, but I think that I'll bring it back this year too... Your mission here is to make a story titled after one of the verses of the classic song: A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE/ 2 TURTLE DOVES/ 3 FRENCH HENS/ 4 CALLING BIRDS/ 5 GOLDEN RINGS/ 6 GEESE A-LAYING/ 7 SWANS A-SWIMMING/ 8 MAIDS A-MILKING/ 9 LADIES DANCING/ 10 LORDS A-LEAPING/ 11 PIPERS PIPING/ 12 DRUMMERS DRUMMING.
Choose one of these and write your short tale. It doesn't have to be about someone giving them as gifts. It doesn't even have to be about Christmas at all. For example, the 5 GOLDEN RINGS could be some sort of pirate quest for treasure, 11 PIPERS PIPING could be about an elementary orchestra recital, 3 FRENCH HENS could be about a farmer and his wife in France etc. Please take a look at the entries before you join the contest to make sure there are no duplicates. I might give some $Juice$ to the entries I like best!

The Twelve Days of Christmas...
Had this idea for a while, but I think I'll finally unleash it this year... NaNoGoShow! Share Excerpts
(jazzy 60s theme song plays, gameshow host voice)
Are you a writer who just finished NaNoWriMo 2020?
Did you write at least 1,500 words?
Are you ready to share a clip of your novel with the world?
Then you’ve certainly come to the WRITE place!
Welcome to NaNoGoShow! The place to Go and Show the Novel you worked on this November.
How it works: post a chapter (between 1,500 and 5,000 words) taken from the novel you were working on throughout this November. Keep it PG-13! Please be mild with profanities and other content.
Editing is allowed! You can clean up your entry a bit, but try to stay true to the fact that the majority of it should have been written during National Novel Writing Month 2020.
Q. Does it have to be perfect?
A. NO WAY! Nothing is perfect. You don’t have to edit your excerpt at all if you wouldn’t like to.
Q. Is editing allowed at all?
A. Sure. It’s not necessary, but if you feel more comfortable going over it and making sure it’s straightened out a little before you present it so that it can be clear and understandable, there is no problem with doing that.
Sound good? Okay! Ready, set, NaNoGO!

Happy Holidays
The Holiday Season is among us! Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and many in between. Some people like to watch a Hallmark Movie Marathon... I'd love to read a Proser Story Marathon! Write any kind of holiday story about any holiday from Valentine's Day to Halloween, but you'll get bonus points if the holiday takes place anywhere from late November to early January (the "traditional" Holiday Season). But, who knows? Even a lesser-known holiday might win- maybe even one that only exists in your character's universe! Be creative! (limit 2000 words- I'd like to be able to read them all) I want to see stories from all sorts of time periods, from cavemen to space men. I want to see different walks of life. The old and the young. The rich and the poor. I want a variety. Be sure to tag me (@LexiCon)! I enjoy reading these. Everyone's a winner, but the ones I really like will get juice, and my favorite will be crowned champ! Thanks for reading/participating! God bless you all and Happy Holidays! <3

($)What's Your Favorite Genre?
(offering $ Juice!!!) I'm trying to write a novel for NaNoWriMo. I don't know if I'll get done due to my busy schedule, but I'm gonna try to dive in anyway. The problem is the fact that I have way too many ideas! I don't know which one of my concepts to settle on. There are so many characters that have so much potential in my opinion, and my brain is always so indecisive. Whoever helps to convince me of which genre novel to write will win the challenge (and get some juice as thanks!) You can write a short story, poem, or just discuss the reason why you like the genre you picked. Whichever entry conveys the message best will be chosen winner by me. I appreciate you all and wish you well on your own NaNoWriMo adventures! God bless!

Friday the 13th

Poetry, prose, whatever. Just mention the infamous date. Winner decided by me. No prize, but potential for reads! ((Remember to tag yours truly! @LexiCon))

Sitting
I had an idea... an anthology about babysitting. I know. It seems boring. But, that's where your imagination steps in. The babysitter secretly a monster. Or, maybe the kid is. Or, maybe the family is. Or, maybe the house is? Or, the pet dog? Or, maybe it isn't a horror flick. What if the kid opens up a mystical world of fairies that no one knows about? Or, what if intruders just so happen to rob the house while the babysitter's there? There are many places you can take it. I'd love to hear all your ideas. Poetry or Prose. Two dollar fee. Quintuple your money if you win! (Keeping the story PG-13 or below gives you a good chance ;] ) God bless, and happy writing! (or sad writing, or scary writing)
