The Pursuit Of Light Lies In Despair
Darkness and mystique encompasses my dreary room Gathering cobwebs lace my fingers when I touch it The blackness, the bleakness, the enigmatic, this tomb Thick slabs of timber bolted down, making it unlit With rusting nails to make glum last The isolation, the exclusiveness, the haze A dusky veil, so large, so vast No amount of scrunching can show me Light's ways And there I stand and there I'm trapped – left here only to grow The Darkness And Deficiency And Sunless Eclipse No one can ever know
Buoyant
A hot and steaming shower
After freezing – no heat
The first bite of dainty food
When you’ve had nothing to eat
Seeing the people you’ve missed
Since the good old youthful days
Arriving home sweet home at last
Following countless delays
The rise and fall of the tide
Is how life is like the sea
The best things in this precious life
At no time come for free
After the good comes the bad
And after the bad comes the good
You’d never be too shattered or proud
If you really understood
Illness is a great necessity
Enhances the value of being well
And would Heaven be so highly thought of
If there was no such thing as Hell?
Success exists because of failures
Happiness ’cause of woe
What’s the joy of being on top
If you can’t see your start, below?
The bliss and rapture we feel in life
Always come from pain
Your experience of comfort is not complete
Without your experience of strain
So next time you face adversity
Throw the world a little grin
’Cause it’s the pain, the loss, the fiasco
That gives you the strength to win
And don’t be so dismayed
If sorrow visits your day
For times of triumph and paradise
Will surely be on your way!
