Alliteration 2.0
Alliteration seems to be trendy right now, so here's something a little more complex. Write a poem with 3 stanzas or more, each stanza with a different letter theme and each major word within the stanza starting with that letter. If you want to get really fancy, make it an acrostic poem with each stanza's letter spelling out a word. Hope that makes sense! (note: minor words such as articles, prepositions, and conjunctions don't have to start with the same letter as the rest of the stanza). See my entry below for an example. :)

PAL

Pretty pleasant people pretend playing party-host precedes

pleasing paranoid porcupines pricking passerby’s pretending

pain palls past paroxysm peevishly pedantic, petulantly

pigheaded prevaricating probity, pretending platitudes.

After arising almost adamantly,

afraid and abdicating abashed abatements,

atoning abysmal absolvement; accentuating accolades

acquits admonished; albeit: ad-infinitum.

Laden labyrinths languish, less laudable,

lingering lyricists linguistics, lost,

lingeringly liquidated,

loathing luminaries.

Unsung Heroine

Mother--matron of mornings,

manners, methods, and mavericks.

Overcomer of obstacles, oligarchs,

and ornery offspring,

optimum overachiever.

More than mere mortal,

mover of the masses,

model for millions,

mother of mine.

M-O-M.

Capricious carnivore, catching canaries

Arrogant arbiter of assassination

Audacious, assuming astounded accolades

Tameless temerity, a treasure of

the best and worst thing in the world

Loneliness,

lethal loveliness,

love-lit lilies and

lavish lovers

lingering in a

little labyrinth.

Opal offerings,

obscure outlines,

obsolete obligations and

ominous, overcompensating organisms

offering outdated opinions,

obscenely obtuse.

Venom,

virulent vexes,

vehement voices, and

vain, valiant volunteers

vanquishing veneers of vulnerability and virtue, veering to

vermillion vindictiveness.

Euphoric evenings,

earthly enthusiasm,

earnest enrapture and

effusive, elated evenings

eluding ego-centric, enervating examples,

effortlessly elated.

path to destruction

Cultural coordination continues to contribute constant changes and carries conditioning cross-generationally.

Careful consideration? C’mon...

Complete corporate control,

clamoring conmen carelessy create cabals as

cacophanies of cancerous callouts curate callousness and

crush consideration of counter-arguments.

Collaborative culture-conscious calamaty.

Craziness.

Factions fragment facing facts,

fractured faiths fail to feed families forgotten by fabricated forces.

Formerly frusterated, now forever forward focused finding former failures freeing. Fleeting feelings fly fervently,

frequent familiar forces fill faces and fallible folks favoring facades face famine. Facilitated facetiousness faithlessly forges falsehoods, “factfinders” flippantly forget facts. Foolishness.

Meaning-maker’s madness masks mankind’s morality, making matters macabre, morbid, morose and misunderstood..

Meanwhile,

spiritual succubi salaciously separate significance and simplicity.

Sinfuly, souls are sold solace.

Surely someone sees the same?

BUT . . .

Bellicose and belligerent boys,

Bullies boast of brutality and

boisterous behavior.

Uncooperative victims

take umbrage

and utter

Unfettered ultimatums.

Timid and on tip-toe,

Tormented and trembling 90 lb. weaklings

Turn the tables and say “No!”

In a torrent of transformative and transcendent

Triumph.

here it phlows

Here’s how hell happened,

hard headed hapless humans having had homes havocked, having had hearts hurtled, hence heads hurt-ridden 'hind hoddies have hidden

Individuals ingrained in -isms incorporated insidious indifference, innocence is illusion implicit illegal industry inevitably intrinsic,

is it over?

indeed it isn’t

Putting poor people past putrid prisons perhaps paying policemen produces profit, pompous power plainly prejudges politricks playing pity plunder

Hear the heckler’s hateful hoaxes hard to hope he heeds the homeless, hasn’t happened so have to hustle have to have it, hooks as hard as heroin-addicts

Overdosed on overly-verbose oxytocins obdurate oracles operate onward, ones own opinions overcome omens only offers ‘onesty occasionally ‘omage or ’onour

’Plaude the proud people protesting pillagery and pertain to philosophy of peaceful pugnacity, poignant poetry projected in pictures painted in public -parks -plots and parking places,

penned plainly

phuck phalsehoods and phight for the phuture
