Anger
What makes me angry. Shall I tell you?
Man's inhumanity to his fellow man grieves me so much, and more. As I see how we are when the mask of civilisation is ripped away and the demon within is revealed in its true form.
I think how we treat each other is shocking, and how we treat the animals that coexist with us here on this ravaged planet is nothing short of barbaric.
Much of it is apportioned to the God Money, and it saddens me to sit and realise that everything we need to live is here on this planet and there for the plucking. There is enough land for all and enough resources for all, or at least there used to be.
The rain that falls from our skies is owned by our Water Companies the minute it leaves its cloud, so I've heard them boast. The land suitable for irrigation is owned and controlled by multi national outlets that dictate which crop is worth production space, with yield maximised by whichever means gives best bang per buck.
Our oceans are divided and sub divided, with strict control over who can fish where, and when.
What is left is becoming more and more polluted.
Money. It has become the driving force of all our lives, to such an extent that those (for whatever reason), who cannot earn are now seen as benefit scroungers with the accompanied stigma that goes with it.
Pity the children who cannot pay their way.
Yet we are all children, our bodies grow and mature and our toys change as we grow older, but inside we remain children, scrambling to advance ourselves in this rat race, and heaven help those without proper skills, and good schooling.
Injustice makes me angry, very angry. It is almost everywhere you look.
So, yes. These are the things that make me turn and swear, these are the things that drive me to distraction. Not war - there'll always be war, but the bigger things and the smaller things.
You can see it in strangers eyes as you walk down the street, fear, mistrust, suspicion, doubt, insincerity. This is no way to live.
Angry Angerson
Anger is the reason for my anger. At least that was how people thought for a long time.
We can trace the idea back to the Greeks, who attributed qualities and feelings with beings. Things like; Love, Despair, Fear, Anger, Joy, were all thought to be brought about by a being who encapsulated that quality or feeling. That is where we get the idea of "letting Fear in," or "don't let Anger creep up on you."
And like all of these beings, Anger would look for opportune times and places to impose itself, usually for its own purposes.
Once that door or window were open, Anger would take advantage and seize partial control, or at least make a visit.
It is an interesting concept, but allowed people to escape blame for their own actions (we actually still have laws which allow for "being seized by Rage" as an acceptable excuse). It is also part of the reason we see the acceptance of a more brutal society in the ancient world.
So what makes me angry?
Mr. Anger does...
