DEVO indoctrination blend for newfound Spudboy enthusiasts.
Now, I'm not trying to reinvent any wheels here. Like many other through-bein-cool quirk-loving blockheads, my favorite DEVO album is in actuality Q:AreWe Not Men A:We Are Devo!
Why then, you might reasonably inquire, does this list contain no songs from that most excellent contribution of musical genius to the human race? Well, put frankly, it is my sanctimonious and presumptuous hope than anyone so-far enjoying this conglomeration of my overtly personal favorites (from otherwhere and else-ness in Devolution) will eventually go on to listen to this estimable group's first album in it's glorious entirety! Without further ado, here is one small and very limited list of endless possibilities, whittled down to a painfully grisly nubbin...

Well...this will take your time
I don't really have any all time favorites nor just simply 'favorites'.
I'm also the type of person who dumps music on chat and recommends random things and gives you the reigns to wether you listen to it or not, (with a compliment on the side on how I'm in love to how they sound and such).
My so called favorites were based on what mood I currently have.
And this challenge was actually a bit broad for me.
I would love to share what bands I listen to, and what songs I love listening to.
But the thing is...
My shit ton of diverse music taste just won't let me.
Okay I'll just mention it.
ONE OK ROCK
Discovering their band was like a meteorite crash falling through my roofs—and I luckily survived.
I rewatched and binged watch Rorouni Kenshin just to hear their song on the end credits. (I'm also quite surprised by how my patience could last, seeing how meager my patience barely existed.)
I wasn't even a die-hard fan.
It just happens that they came at the right moment when I needed a song to justify what particular emotions have been lurking deep inside me.
And honestly I haven't been listening to their song lately but now I'm binge listening to them because of this challenge, so thank you @EatherFlowers1.

There wasn't a particular reason or backstory for this.
During the time I wasn't aware of my trauma, ONE OK ROCK just gave me a lot of courage for my dwindling self-esteem and self-worth.
Bonus songs for a reference to how diverse I listen to music meant.

Notice how my mood changes over the month.
I also don't listen to music often cause there's this mood of mine called "I'm empty, I feel nothing", and mostly my mood for no apparent reason.
So just imagine a week having to not listen to anything but there's this 2 days of endlessly repeating music that just fits my mood.
Okay that was quite a lot.
*Nervously laughs and hides another stash to a much more diverse taste in music*
Have fun listening to my frequent mood changes.
Cheers to the Masters of Storytelling
It's funny....I was driving to school one day this week and had spotify on playing Bruce Springsteen. He is a master story teller....I so admire those like Springsteen and Henley who can take the short span of a "record" and chisel those words with such skill to tell such a magnificent story from start to finish. The rich imagery brought to life vividly inside our minds in such glorious detail by those perfectly chosen words. Yes, brought to life by the setting, the antagonist/protagonist, the plot line from exposition to rising action to climax, to falling action to resolution all generally done in or around four minutes give or take. Hallelujah!
The particular song playing was Thunder Road....I always smile on "you aint a beauty, but, hey, you're alright." What girl wouldn't be charmed? lol....I can't do justice to Reverend Bruce's understanding of how hard life can be and the all too real characters that he breathes life into, those who have been stepped on by a system or others....those characters that we root for as they go up against the harshness of life. Here's my share of Springsteen's Thunder Road. Bruce, take us to Church and preach on....
"Thunder Road"
"The screen door slams, Mary's dress waves
Like a vision, she dances across the porch as the radio plays
Roy Orbison singing for the lonely
Hey, that's me, and I want you only
Don't turn me home again
I just can't face myself alone again
Don't run back inside
Darling, you know just what I'm here for
So you're scared, and you're thinking
That maybe we ain't that young anymore
Show a little faith, there's magic in the night
You ain't a beauty, but, hey, you're alright
Oh, and that's alright with me
You can hide 'neath your covers and study your pain
Make crosses from your lovers, throw roses in the rain
Waste your summer praying in vain
For a saviour to rise from these streets
Well now, I'm no hero, that's understood
All the redemption I can offer, girl, is beneath this dirty hood
With a chance to make it good somehow
Hey what else can we do now?
Except roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair
Well the night's busting open
These two lanes will take us anywhere
We got one last chance to make it real
To trade in these wings on some wheels
Climb in back, heaven's waiting down on the tracks
Oh-oh come take my hand
We're riding out tonight to case the promised land
Oh-oh Thunder Road oh Thunder Road oh Thunder Road
Lying out there like a killer in the sun
Hey, I know it's late, we can make it if we run
Oh, Thunder Road, sit tight, take hold
Thunder Road
Well I got this guitar, and I learned how to make it talk
And my car's out back if you're ready to take that long walk
From your front porch to my front seat
The door's open but the ride it ain't free
And I know you're lonely for words that I ain't spoken
But tonight we'll be free, all the promises'll be broken
There were ghosts in the eyes of all the boys you sent away
They haunt this dusty beach road
In the skeleton frames of burned out Chevrolets
They scream your name at night in the street
Your graduation gown lies in rags at their feet
And in the lonely cool before dawn
You hear their engines roaring on
But when you get to the porch they're gone on the wind
So Mary, climb in
It's a town full of losers
And I'm pulling out of here to win"
