Winter Wonderland
The snow is falling,
yellow sparks from logs fly high,
egg nog is the best.
_____
The stockings, stuffed.
gifts galore under the tree,
holiday songs, sung.
_____
It's a snowball fight!
You can duck but you can't hide!
I'm coming for you!
_____
Late night, Christmas Eve,
kids in bed, just you and me,
and the kiss lingers.

A Collection of Holiday Haiku
Under the warm glow
Of red and green Christmas lights,
I lean into you
Powdery snow falls
Blanketing the earth in white
Gorgeous winter day
On Christmas morning
Sounds the pitter-patter of
Small feet dashing through
Ribbons and glitter
Adorning the gifts under
The dressed Christmas tree
Reindeer prance along
While Santa and his elves work
Giving joy to all
Happy holidays
To one and all, a season
Of joy, mirth, and cheer
...Syllabic Arithmetic...
I wait to be wrapped
in snow blankets; the clouds have
My rapt attention.
.
.
.
Mischievous snowmen
love to wink at passersby;
squirrels love their eyes.
...
Hehe. Puns. And poor haikus.
.
.
.
I'm terrible, see?
At haikus and syllables.
It's foreign to me.
...
Ha. See what I did there? ;)
Yep, I'll leave now.
But here is a more serious one to end. "Serious" meaning...that I thought about it.

The tiny hush falls
tensed - for a miracle comes
and all nature knows.
Christmas Eve
Peppermint snowflakes
fall onto holy stables,
Candles remember.
Reindeer fly above.
Kris Kringle sits on the coach
and shouts to the stars.
Merry Christmas to
all and to all a goodnight!
Children dream of gifts
awaiting next morn
strewn under the Christmas tree
wrapped in paper.
But what brings us here,
together with merry cheer
is not gifts or deer.
We are here for love.
