I always used to say "de-thaw" when I meant "thaw". My husband always used to say "as if though.." instead of "as if.." or "as though.." It's alarming how easily we can misinterpret our own language. But it's also sometimes amusing and interesting to think of the origins of words when they may mean something completely different today. Write about some of these word discrepancies, either in your personal experience or in the culture as a whole, and guess at or tell us the origin of their misinterpretation, even if you don't know how they came to be.
