I could tell you a million things about the man I love
I could tell you his favourite colour is blue,
And that he sometimes hides caramel squares under his pillow for a "midnight snack".
I could tell you that he plants trees
and sings to me when I can't sleep.
I could tell you that his eyes
encompass whole galaxies,
And that when he snores it sounds like thunder.
I could tell you I see lightning strikes when he kisses me,
Or that he has a competitive streak.
Sometimes he's ridiculous and goofy and brings out the best in me,
And sometimes he worries me half to death.
I could go on for days, comparing his laugh to a breeze that kisses the back of your neck on a hot summer day.
But I mustn't breathe a word,
About the way he loves me.
As I, myself, still don't understand how, or why.
