OSU in the NFL: 2021 Draft recap
Another NFL Draft has come and gone and Oklahoma State has four new draftees entering the league with several more signing UDFA contracts https://www.whoutletstore.com/Myles_Murao_Jersey-77. Each player is entering a new and unique situation that will shape their pro careers. With that being said, the depth chart per position per team for each of OSU new draftees could have a significant impact on how much each player might see the field next season. Let's look at each situationTeven Jenkins, Chicago BearsWe believe it.of discusses the talented Coach Gundy had high praise for the Chicago Bears selection of Teven Jenkins at No. 39 overall. The Bears decided to go with highly regarded Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields in round one so following that pick up with offensive line protection for the new face-of-the-franchise was a good move. The Bears offensive line play struggled in 2020 according to Bear Report , Chicago's 247sports website, and addressed those needs in the draft by moving up to select Jenkins in round two and selecting Missouri offensive tackle Larry Borom in the fifth round. ESPN has already slotted Jenkins into the starting left tackle spot and that doesn't come as much of a surprise. That same depth chart projection is a fairly conservative one as well; it has Fields as the second-string quarterback behind Andy Dalton.Jenkins should see plenty of playing time and a starting role for most or all of 2021 for a Chicago offensive line that struggled a season ago. Of note, former Cowboy Arlington Hambright also plays for the Bears and is listed by ESPN as a third-string left guard. Hambright was drafted by the Bears in the seventh round of the 2020 draft out of Colorado, where he grad-transferred to after two years in Stillwater. Chuba Hubbard, Carolina PanthersCount another offensive pick for 2021 Listen in on the call Add in Bateman and Wallace to a team that already employs Sammy Watkins and it is easy to see the Ravens have no true No. 1 receiver The New York Giants selected Rodarius Williams two picks behind where Tom Brady was selected in 200The OSU-to-Pittsburgh pipeline continues! Hopefully Bundage will get to join former teammates Mason Rudolph and James Washington in Pittsburgh full time.Pittsburgh utilizes a 3-4 linebacker-heavy scheme that should give Bundage a decent chance to make the roster. ESPN already has him slotted in as a third-stringer, on par with Wallace in Baltimore. The Steelers selected two other linebackers in this draft as well Los Angeles will give Amen Ogbongbemiga his first shot, but it won't be his last shot no matter what.Ogbongbemiga agreed to terms with the Chargers but if things don't work out, Stillwater's other favorite Canadian will have the option to play with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL after he was selected eighth overall in the CFL Draft. The newest in the barn! After going undrafted, Dillon Stoner shocked everyone by not signing with the Patriots and instead signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. This is an excellent decision by Stoner on multiple levels. Firstly, the Raiders did not draft a single wide receiver despite losing its top non-tight end receiving target in Nelson Agholor. The leading receiver last season was tight end Darren Waller, the Raiders only 1,000-yard receiver last season. With Agholor leaving, the leading returning true receiver is former Clemson standout Hunter Renfrow, who, at 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, is very similar in size to Stoner. Other than Renfrow, the Raiders employ 2020 first rounder and former Alabama speedster Henry Ruggs III to form a solid young one-two punch with Renfrow. The third starting receiver is Bryan Edwards, who caught just 11 passes last season. That's followed by John Brown To round out the Oklahoma State UDFA signings, we have Cameron Murray heading to Arizona. Arizona drafted no defensive tackles and just one defensive linemanDuke's Victor Dimukeje in round sixwho currently slots in as a third-stringer. The Cardinals also run a 3-4 defense, so this means less spots on the defensive line. Arizona is currently four-deep on defensive ends at each side and has just two nose tackles https://www.whoutletstore.com/Camden_Verstrate_Jersey-35, presumably what Murray will play in the desert. The roster would suggest Murray may have a chance if Arizona determines it needs three nose tackles, but they may pass on that with 10 defensive lineman currently on the roster for three spots. Still, anything can happen in training camp and Murray could have a chance to earn a spot if he impresses https://www.whoutletstore.com/Jacob_Bandes_Jersey-41. Regardless of how much playing time or if these players make the final 53-man roster, it is a dream just to make it to this point. Wishing all the best for each of these pro Cowboys as they embark on their NFL careers!
Oklahoma State baseball tops UConn, advances to Lubbock Super Regional
Oklahoma State came out on top 3-1 in a decisive game four to win the Oklahoma City Regional. UConn starter Kenny Haus threw 2.1 innings with three hits no runs and three strikeouts. Jacob Wallace closed for UConn in another outstanding performance in 2.2 innings with no hits no runs and five strikeouts. For the Cowboys, starter Joe Lienhard would get the win after lasting six innings with five hits a run and four strikeouts. He would also do this https://www.uhoutletstore.com/Chase_Lundt_Jersey-38 ....ICYMI: Big Joe with a BIG catch in tonight's Regional win over UConn. Battenfield would come in and pitch three innings with no runs no hits and five strikeouts. The Huskies would strike first offensively on a RBI single from Anthony Prato in the top of the fifth inning. The Pokes would follow up in the bottom of the same inning on a solo homer from Alix Garcia.Bullpen for Garcia and the Cowboys tie it up! The difference in this game would Carson McCusker. Not only did he make plays in left field all night, but he hit an RBI double that would give the Pokes their two run lead. This dude McCusker... This is his 3rd of the night! With this win OSU is now 39-19 on the season https://www.uhoutletstore.com/Ryan_Van_Demark_Jersey-29. Next up:The No. 9-seeded Cowboys will face No. 8 Texas Tech in a best-of-three Super Regional in Lubbock, Texas. The Red Raiders swept a three-game regular season home series against OSU. Games 1 and 2 will be Friday and Saturday https://www.uhoutletstore.com/Robert_King_Iii_Jersey-28, respectively. Game 3, if necessary, will be played Monday.
College Football Preview: Week 11
Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching. That means its time to put down your holiday lights and Mariah Carey Christmas music and appreciate Thanksgiving a little more! It also means that we are about to find out which teams are for real across the college football landscape https://www.ukfootballprostore.com/Aaron_Robinson_Jersey-5. The second of five College Football Playoff rankings were released last Tuesday as teams approach the stretch run of the season. Let's take a look at where the Big 12 stands.TCU No. 10 Oklahoma StateOklahoma State has a lot going on this weekend. The Cowboys have branded their night game with TCU as a blackout game. It is also the Folds of Honor Military Appreciation Game for Oklahoma State. On top of all of that, former OSU Heisman winner Barry Sanders is going into OSU's Ring of Honor and being memorialized with a statue outside of the stadium. With that being said, I don't know that this game will be as easy for Oklahoma State as everyone thought it would be a week ago https://www.ukfootballprostore.com/Lokahi_Pauole_Jersey-70. Redshirt freshman and OU transfer Chandler Morris got his first start at TCU last weekend and upset Baylor while accounting for nearly 500 yards of total offense. He won't have an easy time in his first start on the road against the team with the best defense in the conference, but there isn't a lot of film on Morris and he should prove to be more potent than Max Duggan has been for the Horned Frogs. This is certainly a trap game for Oklahoma State. A prime time matchup with Texas Tech next will be too. These teams aren't Oklahoma, but the Cowboys can't afford a loss to TCU or Texas Tech in the hunt for a Big 12 Championship Game berth. Oklahoma State should win this game. The TCU defense hasn't been great this season and starting a freshman quarterback against OSU's defense isn't a recipe for success. That being said, this is college football. Anything can happen, especially in November. The CRFF staff has Oklahoma State over TCU on Saturday night. No. 8 Oklahoma No. 13 BaylorThe most intriguing Big 12 matchup of the day will kickoff at 11 on Saturday morning on FOX when Oklahoma takes on Baylor in Waco. Oklahoma may be 9-0 but this will be the Sooners first real test of the season. That is exactly when OU is ranked eighth despite being undefeated. A win over Baylor this weekend would likely move the Oklahoma into the top five. Both of these teams need a win this weekend. Baylor doesn't want a third loss on the season and would like to stay in the hunt for the Big 12 Championship Game. Oklahoma desperately needs a quality win to move up in the College Football Playoff rankings. A loss would prove the committee right in its ranking the Sooners lower than OU fans would like https://www.ukfootballprostore.com/Cade_Sams_Jersey-42. This is a game Baylor could absolutely win. The Bears have played well at home so far this season and they do a lot of the same things Kansas does. Kansas nearly beat OU last month and OU needed late game heroics from Caleb Williams on a play that may or may not have even been legal in order to win. The Sooners will need to play much better against Baylor if they want to win. Our staff has Oklahoma beating Baylor on the road in Waco, but is split on if the Bears will cover a 6.5 point spread or not. I have Baylor covering the spread but losing 38-33. West Virginia Kansas StateWest Virginia will attempt to get its offense restarted after a rough showing against Oklahoma State at home last week. The Mountaineers mustered just three points and 133 total yards of offense in a 24-3 loss. Kansas State is coming off of a 35-10 win over Kansas last weekend, making the Wildcats eligible for a bowl game with a 6-3 record. Kansas State still has games against Texas and Baylor left but can clinch a winning record with a win this weekend. West Virginia is 4-6 and still needs to wins to get to bowl eligibility. A win this weekend would take some of the pressure off the Mountaineers with Texas and Kansas still left on the schedule. Kansas State has won three games in a row and West Virginia is 2-1 in its last three games. I think this will be a close game but I have Kansas State pulling out a close win at home. I have West Virginia covering the spread, but the rest of the staff is split on if that will happen or not. Kickoff is set for 11 on Saturday morning on FS1.Iowa State Texas TechTexas Tech's first game since hiring former Baylor assistant coach Joey McGuire to be its head coach will come against Iowa State. McGuire won't be coaching this game, or any game, until next year. Interim coach Sonny Cumbie will lead the Red Raiders at home against Iowa State still looking for one more win to get to bowl eligibility. Iowa State is coming off a 30-7 beat down of Texas at home last weekend. The Iowa State defense was particularly impressive, limiting the Horns explosive plays and keeping them out of the end zone. The ISU offense got off to a slow start but made adjustments and recovered in the second half. At 6-3, this has been a disappointing season in Ames. That says something about how healthy the program is though. The Cyclones should finish 2-1 down the stretch with wins over Texas Tech and TCU and a loss to Oklahoma. If Iowa State beats Oklahoma and wins out, it should lock up a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game. A 2-1 finish to the season would still result in an 8-4 season with a chance to win a ninth game in a bowl game. Iowa State shouldn't have any problem with Texas Tech, though the Cyclones haven't played their best football on the road. I have Iowa State over Texas Tech and covering a 10.5 point spread. The rest of the staff picked Iowa State to win the game but is split on if it will cover the spread or not. Kickoff is set for 2:30 on Saturday afternoon on ESPN2.Kansas TexasThe Texas Longhorns have dropped four straight games and blown double-digit leads in the second half in three of those four games. A UT player took a video of Texas assistant coach Bo Davis ripping into his team on the bus after the Iowa State game for laughing and joking. It's clear there is a culture problem in the locker room, and there likely has been for a long time. Now the Horns seem to have a staff that is unwilling to put up with it and is actively trying to change the losing culture into a winning one. Texas needs to win two of its last three games to make a bowl game. That's not a sentence anyone expected to be reading at halftime of the Red River Rivalry, but here we are. Texas should get a win against Kansas and would need to beat either West Virginia or Kansas State on the road in order to qualify for a bowl game.Kansas caught lightning in a bottle against OU and still couldn't capitalize and win a Big 12 game. That was likely its best chance this season. The Jayhawks are 1-8 so far this season with Texas, TCU and West Virginia still left on the schedule. Kansas lost to its in-state rivals 35-10 last week and lost to OSU 55-3 the week before that. Our entire staff has Texas beating Kansas to bring its record to 5-5 on the season, however, the entire staff has Kansas covering a massive 30.5 point spread. Kansas might be the worst power five team in football, other than maybe Vanderbilt, but Texas hasn't proved itself to be good enough to beat a power five team by 30 points. Games Around the NationThere is a pretty good slate of games around the nation this weekend with the Oklahoma- Baylor showdown headlining the group. No. 6 Michigan faces a test against Penn State on the road at 11 on Saturday morning on ABC. Mississippi State faces No. 17 Auburn on the road in a game that should be evenly matched. Kickoff between the Bulldogs and Tigers is set for 11 on ESPN. If you are into G5 football, SMU will be looking to bounce back against UCF at home at 11 on ESPNU https://www.ukfootballprostore.com/Elijah_Benoit_Jersey-65. No. 17 Purdue will look to upset another top-five team when it takes on No. 4 Ohio State on the road at 2:30 on Saturday afternoon on ABC. No. 1 Georgia takes on a potent Tennessee offense at 2:30 on the SEC on CBS. No. 11 Texas AM takes on No. 15 Ole Miss on Saturday night at 6 on ESPN. College GameDay will be live from The Grove on Saturday night morning ahead of that game. Here are some our staff picks from around the nation.
Oklahoma State Basketball Will be Tested Early in the Season
Early season tournaments are one of the most fun traditions in college basketball. It's a way for teams to break in their freshmen and for top schools to compete against each other. Oklahoma State didn't get the luxury of playing in a fun or exciting early season tournament last season. Instead, they took on Towson, George Mason, and Long Beach State in the Gildan Charleston Classic.Oklahoma State went 180 degrees this season as they're going to compete in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational alongside UCONN, North Carolina, Oregon, Wisconsin, Georgetown, Tennessee and Chaminade. The Maui Invitational is usually considered the premier early season tournament as it has a good history of hosting the eventual NCAA championship team https://www.tvfanprostore.com/Jacob_Warren_Jersey-5. The bracket won't be announced until closer to the tournament, although this is the perfect tournament to help break in a new era. With a new head coach in Brad Underwood and a promising back court featuring Phil Forte III and Jawun Evans, this is the kind of test that will be good for the Cowboys to see how they match up against some of the best teams in the nation.Despite the fact that Oklahoma State will likely be viewed as an underdog against everyone besides Chaminade, they couldn't be in a better position to start the season. They'll have a chance to compete against three teams that went to at least the Sweet Sixteen last season, who are also returning NBA caliber players. In a way, this tournament is like initiation for Underwood. Just like Oklahoma State will be this season, he dealt with an undersized roster at Stephen F. Austin last season where he only had one seven-footer https://www.tvfanprostore.com/Alton_Stephens_Jersey-96, and he only played 6.4 minutes per game. That's because he sped up the game and out-hustled the opposing team who would then fold under pressure and make carless mistakes. It's not to say that Oklahoma State is going to enforce their will on North Carolina and shock them, however, he'll have a coaching battle in nearly every game, against a Power 5 school, to show if he is worth the hype.Whether it's Roy Williams, Kevin Ollie, John Thompson III, Greg Gard or Dana Altman, Underwood will have to bring his A-game. Luckily, like previously noted, he knows how to deal with an undersized team.Size could end up being a deciding factor and put Oklahoma State down early in a lot of games if they don't control the paint. Nigel Hayes of Wisconsin and 6'10" freshman Tony Bradley of North Carolina could easily cause major problems for the Cowboys if they don't make stopping them a top priority. The Cowboys will have to play similar to how Stephen F. Austin did last season if they want to win games. They'll have to speed up the tempo and rely on Forte, Evans and incoming freshman Cameron McGriff. Not only will speeding up the tempo help cover up their undersized roster, it will create easier shots if they're able to get out in transition.Easier shots are a must for a team who only shot 42.3 percent from the field last season and 32.8 percent from behind the arc. It won't be easy to get potential top-ten teams to change their games, especially when they're all very well coached, but it'll be a learning experience for a young coach and team. While there will be a lot of great coaches in store, the early development of Jawun Evans and Cameron McGriff is what will be most interesting. During the early season tournament last season, Forte injured his elbow and ended up missing the rest of the season. Oklahoma State knows the fifth year guard is a leader and will give quality production, however, how will his play compliment Jawun Evans?Even though he was a freshman, Evans took over as the team's go-to-guy and ended up leading the team with 12 https://www.tvfanprostore.com/Sully_Mcdermott_Jersey-147. 9 points and 4.9 assists per game. They'll have a couple of regular season games before Maui to get comfortable with each other, and they could end up being the surprise duo of the tournament.Evans is a very good passer - finished with the second most assists by a freshman in OSU history - and having a three-point shooter like Forte next to him will help create a lot of opportunities. It'll help space the floor more to create open lanes for Evans to drive to the basket since he's not a three-point specialist like Forte. It may not happen right away, however, learning on the fly against players like Tyler Dorsey and Dillon Brooks of Oregon or Nigel Hayes of Wisconsin will show them what they need to work on. It's a tournament that's featuring more than a couple of tournament teams. The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing season and this is a chance to show the college basketball world that they're turning the program around. Also, it's a chance for Jawun Evans to make a name for himself. He's not going to be a player many people are looking out for heading into the tournament, however, he could put his name on the national map if he plays well, especially after being named Big 12 Freshman of the Year.
College Football Preview Week Seven
It's week seven of the college football season and the Oklahoma State Cowboys are still undefeated. The Pokes are 5-0 and travel to the capital of the Lone Star State to take on the No. 25 Texas Longhorns. Our staff made predictions for games in the Big 12 and across the country thanks to Tallysight. No. 12 Oklahoma State No. 25 TexasOklahoma State will put its undefeated record on the line in Austin on Saturday morning. The Cowboys had the week off while Texas was busy blowing a 21 point first-quarter lead to Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry Game. Texas will be tasked with beating another ranked team from Oklahoma in order to remain in the top-25. Texas averages the most points-per-game in the Big 12 Conference and the Oklahoma State defense allows the least amount of points-per-game in the conference https://www.omroutlet.com/Drake_Beck_Jersey-8. The old unstoppable force meets the immovable object. Something has got to give. At the end of the day, I don't think the Oklahoma State offense is able to keep up with Texas, and the lack of offense in the second half is the primary reason why I think Texas prevails over OSU 31-24 on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. on FOX. Jacob Ingalls has OSU coming out of Austin with a 24-21 win, but the rest of the staff is picking Texas to bounce back from its loss to OU. No. 19 BYU BaylorA Baylor win over BYU would look good for Oklahoma State and potentially vault the Bears back into the top-25. Baylor is coming off a home win over West Virginia while BYU suffered a loss at home last week to Boise State. Gerry Bohanon passed for 336 yards and four touchdowns and Tyquan Thornton caught eight passes for 187 yards and two scores against West Virginia en route to a 45-20 win. The Baylor offense looked much better than it did against Oklahoma State, albeit against a worse defense. I have had a hard time calibrating Baylor so far this season. Sometimes they look great and other times not so much. I think Baylor could absolutely win this game, but I am going to go with BYU by a field goal. Ingalls agrees with me but Ian and Robert are going with Baylor. Kick off is at 2:30 Saturday afternoon on ESPN. Texas Tech Kansas Texas Tech and Kansas will face off in Lawrence on ESPN+ at 3:00 on Saturday afternoon. Texas Tech suffered a 21 point loss to TCU last week and is off to a 1-2 start. I don't think Kansas' season needs much of an explanation at this point. With that being said, Texas Tech should be able to come into Lawrence and get whatever it wants against Kansas. Texas Tech needs a big win to boost confidence with a stretch of games against Kansas State, Oklahoma and Iowa State coming up. Needless to say, our entire staff has Texas Tech winning and covering the 16.5 point spread against a hapless Kansas squad. TCU No. 4 OklahomaWho will start for at quarterback for Oklahoma? Will it be Caleb Williams or Spencer Rattler? It's not often OU changes quarterbacks in the middle of the season, but it looks like Rattler will make the transition from Heisman candidate to bench warmer. Williams looked much better in a few quarters against Texas than Rattler has looked all year. As a result https://www.omroutlet.com/Jordan_Jernigan_Jersey-57, Oklahoma erased a big deficit against Texas to win the Red River Rivalry. Williams had a pair of jaw-dropping passes, and Marvin Mims had a jaw-dropping catch on one of those passes, but the main thing Williams did that was a big improvement over Rattler was taking care of the ball. Rattler turned the ball over twice while the true freshman protected the ball the rest of the game. I think Williams gets the start on Saturday. TCU might be in some trouble of its own as star running back Zach Evans was listed as questionable to play as of Friday. Quarterback Max Duggan and receiver Quentin Johnson were also questionable to play as of Friday, and if all three miss the game, the OU defense will face a shell of what TCU's offense normally is. This should be an exciting game for a number of reasons. It could be our first look at Williams as a starter and a preview of what is to come for Oklahoma. We also might get a look at how good some of TCU's backup players are. If Duggan, Evans and Johnson do play, this game could be a high scoring shootout. Our entire staff has OU winning but TCU covering a 13.5 point spread. Kick off is set for 6:30 Saturday night on ABC. Iowa State Kansas StateA pair of 3-2 squads will get together in Manhattan at 6:30 Saturday night. The game will be played on ESPN2 and both teams need a win. Iowa State is 1-1 in conference play with a big win over Kansas and a loss on the road to Baylor. Kansas State is 0-2 in conference play with a 31-20 loss to Oklahoma State and a 37-31 loss to Oklahoma. Iowa State has been particularly disappointing after being a Big 12 Championship Game contender in the preseason. With only one loss in conference play, Iowa State can still get there, but it has to be nearly perfect from here on out. This should be a close game in a great environment, but I am going with Iowa State in a close one. The rest of the staff has Iowa State winning except for Robert, who thinks Kansas State picks up its first win in conference play this season. Games Around the NationIt appears to be a slim slate of good games this weekend. As last weekend showed us, anything is possible in college football. A slow afternoon can turn into an exciting one real quick. No. 11 Kentucky takes on No. 1 Georgia in Athens. UCF takes on No. 3 Cincinnati at 11 on Saturday morning on ABC. Auburn plays at No. 17 Arkansas at 11 on CBS. Arkansas needs a win after two straight losses. No. 13 Ole Miss plays at Tennessee on SECN at 6:30. Tennessee is 4-2 and is suddenly scoring a lot of points, so this one could be a shootout. Virginia Tech plays Pittsburgh in what could be a great game at 2:30 on ESPN2. No. 18 Arizona State takes on Utah on the road at 9:00 on Saturday night on ESPN in the weekly Pac-12 after dark game https://www.omroutlet.com/Jakivuan_Brown_Jersey-84. Let's take a look at some of our staff picks for games around the nation.
Hoops Recruiting: Oklahoma State makes cut for Georgia transfer guard Sahvir Wheeler
Oklahoma State remains one of the more active players in the transfer portal as head coach Mike Boynton works to fill out his roster for the 2021-2022 season. The latest player that the Cowboys are in on is sophomore Georgia transfer Sahvir Wheeler https://www.oscoutlet.com/Constantino_Borrelli_Jersey-151. According to Jeff Goodman of Stadium, OSU made the cut for Wheeler, along with Texas, Kentucky, Kansas, Gonzaga, Michigan, LSU, Oregon State, Stanford and Wichita State.Goodman says Wheeler "wants to go somewhere where he can play in the Final Four."Last season for Georgia, Wheeler averaged 14.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game last season. That said, Wheeler saw his shooting averages drop across the board his sophomore season, shooting just 39.9% from the floor, down from 47.2% as a freshman https://www.oscoutlet.com/Relijah_Sherman_Jersey-32. He also saw his turnovers per game jump from 2 https://www.oscoutlet.com/Landon_Wolf_Jersey-48. 9 to 4.4.That said, with Isaac Likekele returning for another season, Wheeler would make a great back-up.Oklahoma State has just one commit for 2021 in Syracuse transfer Woody Nelson. There is a question as to just how many scholarships Oklahoma State will have available for next season, but as of now, it seems like Boynton is trying to land both a backup point guard and another big man.
Oklahoma State Recruiting Roundup
Recruiting never stops for college athletics, especially in the off-season. Oklahoma State coaches are hard at work right now trying to recruit the next class of players to don the orange and black. The recruiting roundup is our way of tallying up all the latest offers and visits by potential Cowboys. The big news of the week came on Saturday morning with the commitment of 3-star safety Jarrick Bernard. He is the 3rd safety commit of the 2018 class, and the 13th commit overall. CUTAt the moment Oklahoma State only has one wide receiver commit for 2018. They're officially in the running for another. In an interview with Gabe Brooks of Scout , Smith says the Cowboys are primarily recruiting him to play corner. He also says he's looking forward to the visit."This is my first visit to Oklahoma State https://www.mwoutletshop.com/Karl_Kerska_Jersey-46 ," Smith said. "I look forward to seeing their facilities and seeing how bad their staff really wants me."Smith also plans to visit TCU, Mississippi State, and Tennessee this summer. Oklahoma State played host to multiple players at mini-camp on Friday, including 2020 quarterback prospect Ken Seales. Amazing day at OSU working with OCQB Coach Yurcich 69% completion rate. He also threw 10 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Not bad for a freshman in high school. This week, Oklahoma State focused on the future on the recruiting trail making offers to multiple 2019 prospects. That includes wide-receiver LaVontae Shenault Shenault, a 6-foot-1, 175 lb. WR from Desoto, Texas, is a recruit on the rise. He currently has eight offers, six of which came in May. His list right now includes OSU, West Virginia, Kansas State, Utah, Illinois, Colorado, SMU, and North Texas. Colorado was the first the offer him and could have a leg up with his older brother Laviska currently on the Buffaloes' roster. Oklahoma State also offered 2019 safety Jamal Morris. All glory to God!! Just picked up my 6th offer from Oklahoma State University!!! Morris offer https://www.mwoutletshop.com/Josh_Ross_Jersey-12. Sports is in a four-way split on which team he will end up with between Texas, Oklahoma, Texas AM, and Ohio State. The 6-foot-2, 190 lb. receiver was committed to OU, but decommited back in April. After his commitment to OU, Henderson's list of offers sky rocketed to the impressive list of 43 he has now. OSU is a little late to the game going after Henderson, but it never hurts to offer. Wouldn't it be awesome to land a guy that used to be an OU commit? The final offer for the 2019 class last week went to defensive end Isreal Isuman-Hundley.Blessed to say I have received my 2nd second offer from OSU https://www.mwoutletshop.com/Custom_Jersey-121. The Cowboys are just the second team to offer the 6-foot-6, 230 DE from Argyle, TX. Baylor was his first offer.Hundley is a BIG kid, with freak physicality and a lot of upside especially considering he hasn't been playing football long. Expect more offers to start rolling in for this kid soon. OSU stayed in-state to offer 2020 offensive tackle Andrew Raym.Beyond grateful to have received on offer from Oklahoma State University!! It's still really early, but the Sooners seem to be all-in on the kid. If the Cowboys are going to land Raym, they're going to have to battle the Sooners to do so. The Cowboys made an offer to Junior College cornerback Dominic Cameron.Cameron, a 5-foot-10 CB from Converse, Texas, plays for Navarro junior college where he appeared in six games last season, totalling 12 tackles. He was an unheralded recruit out of high school but has shown some ability at the JUCO level. Wilson committed to the Cougars two months ago, right after they made an offer. Since then, Wilson's number of offers has increased to 15 and now includes OSU, Kansas, Houston, Tulsa, and Memphis, among others. In his announcement Wilson said, "I believe I should enjoy the recruiting process and pick a school that best fits me."OSU appears to be in decent shape with Wilson now that his recruitment is back open. Though I expect more offers to come.
Cowboys tame K-State in 31-20 win
With questions surrounding Mike Gundy, Kasey Dunn and the Cowboy offense after the past three games, the Cowboys started the first half off with a bang. Scoring 24 of the Cowboys 31 points in the game. The Cowboys did not score in the second half for the second straight week but still covered against the Wildcats from Little Manhattan, 31-20. Spencer Sanders played his best game of the year thus far. Throwing 34 times and completing 22 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns. Additionally, Sanders ran for one touchdown to go with 18 rushing yards. But it wasn't just Sanders on the offensive end. Jaylen Warren had another solid game after his monster outing at Boise. The Utah State transfer carried the ball 27 times and ran for 123 yards as well as four catches for 81 yards. Tay Martin returned in a big way after missing the last two games and had the most receptions out of any receiver in the game with nine https://www.mssoutlet.com/Women-43. Martin also had 100 yards and a touchdown. Rashad Owens and Brendan Presley also had solid showings with Owens having three receptions for 49 yards and Presley having two catches, 53 yards and a touchdown of his own. For the majority of the game, Kansas State was playing with their third string QB Jaden Lewis who went 10 of 19 with 148 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Will Howard started the game, and returned in the second half for one drive before being relieved by Lewis both times. Howard, threw 12 times and completed four of them for 50 yards. But K-State's spark plug on offense, Deuce Vaughn, was silent for most of the night, at least rushing wise he was. 13 carries for just a measly 22 yards. He made up for it on the receiving end, catching the ball five times, including a 55-yard touchdown reception on what could have easily been a tackle for loss from the Cowboy defense. The defense had another stellar performance, led by senior safety Kolby Harvell-Peel. The College Station product led the team with 8 total tackles and his second interception of the season in the 11 point win. Malcolm Rodriguez made a little history tonight, jumping up to number eight on Oklahoma State's all time leading tacklers list and still climbing. The super senior had seven total tackles https://www.mssoutlet.com/Nick_Hunter_Jersey-87, six solo and one tackle for loss. Two more big performers for the Cowboy defense were Israel Antwine and Jarrick Bernard-Converse. Bernard-Converse had three pass deflections to go with four tackles and Israel Antwine, who had three tackles and one of the Cowboy's two sacks on the game https://www.mssoutlet.com/Anthony_Russo_Jersey-104. The Cowboys remain undefeated at 4-0 and will likely be ranked in the AP Poll for the first time all season. They host another undefeated team, Baylor. The Bears upset Iowa State 31-29 today on the banks of the Brazos. That game will take place next Saturday at 6pm CT on ESPN2.
Q&A with Travis Ford and Players RE: Kansas Rematch
Here's an interesting QA Jimmy Tramel from the Tulsa World did with Head Coach Travis Ford and several players after yesterday's win against Nebraska. There's some good stuff in here about what the Cowboys think about their rematch with Kansas. I especially like what JPO has to say about the game. You beat Kansas in Stillwater last season, so is there any benefit to having players with memories of beating the Jayhawks?Ford: I think they probably remember Lawrence more than anything https://www.mthoutlet.com/Keylin_Roach_Jersey-137. I think they'll remember that more than anything. They handed it to us pretty good. What's it going to take to beat Kansas? Ford: Hopefully they miss a few shots and hopefully we make a few. It boils down to that. That's kind of the name of the game this time of year. How do you feel about getting Kansas as a reward for winning?Marshall Moses: It's fun to play against teams like Kansas and the Dukes and all the teams that are ranked in the top five of the country. You couldn't ask for anything better. It's like a dream. Matt Pilgrim: That's beautiful man. That's the goal I had to keep winning, until you win it all.Jean-Paul Olukemi: It's more of a payback game, I think. That's where everybody's mind better be. They embarrassed us on national TV and this is an opportunity to show the world that we went down there and didn't play like ourselves https://www.mthoutlet.com/Sean_Meisler_Jersey-144. That's what that game should represent for us. Do you realize probably no one expects your team to win?Moses: We expect to go out there and compete. It doesn't really matter what anybody thinks. We're the ones playing and as long as we think we have a chance, that's all that really matters.Because Kansas beat you by 27 points, was confidence lost?Moses: I don't think confidence was lost. They are a great team. I don't think any team is 30 points better than us, but they have really good players and a really good team and I don't think we lost confidence https://www.mthoutlet.com/Zane_Porter_Jersey-157. We just lost the game.
