Code for the Zombie Drug
The city's panicking, but for a panic it's awfully hard to find anyone. The streets are alive with the kind of silence that screams and the air is still and dead. I know they're here, I can feel them. I can practically taste the fear radiating off the people hiding. Only a few hours ago this place was swarming with people living, dead, and undead but now... This will probably be my last entry. No point in keeping a diary if the future never comes. I guess I can't complain, I'm still alive. There was so much noise when they first appeared. All the screams, the gunfire, the begging. As if begging would keep you from being eaten. Now it's just quiet. Almost like the entire world is holding its breath, waiting to see how long we'll last. "Almost" is a funny word. I almost feel sorry for everyone running around counting down the amount of time they have left. Almost. I think the zombies took everyone by surprise. I mean who would have thought that what started off as a simple experiment to cure disease would turn into the spread of a new kind of disease. The kind of disease that keeps you alive after you die. The scientists certainly didn't expect this. It was almost avoided too. Ah, there's that word again "almost". It's quite the joke how this is all turning out. I thought it would be fun to play with the magic that is science but I never dreamed I could make something so unpredictable. I bet I surprised them when their miracle cure turned out so badly. I did the calculations perfectly after all. I wonder how long I'll last when everyone is dead or undead. What would they all do then? Would I just be left here for the rest of eternity? Now I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps I should have done something to enable some of these people to live. It will be terribly boring with no one to play with. I could always start over, make a new race of creatures more fun than humans. Hmm... Oh what fun it is to live in technology!
