Moment of Forever Love
"Do you know how to wrap a burrito, not like just fold it into a jumbled mess?" I looked down at my plate, my burrito unfolding slowly as the meat began to fall out. She looked up at me with wide but joking eyes. "Did you just ask a Hispanic woman if she knows how to wrap a burrito?" She said with a hint of fake enthusiasm and a whole lot of sarcasm. I felt kind of shocked. I think that was it. It was that moment...At the time I didn't fully recognize and I kept talking but now I full understand what it was. "You would be surprised how many women don't keep up their heritage. I mean not that burrito wrapping is like what Hispanics do specifically but you know what I mean. Not only that but burritos are damned hard to wrap correctly..." I looked up when I realized she was not paying attention, not like normal how people would like not listen when I was talking. Her head was reared back as laughter poured out of her mouth. I was just looking blankly but then I began to laugh. I knew exactly what that moment was. A moment when you look at someone and know you are going to love them forever....a moment of forever love.
