Different
I have always
felt out of place
Like I never did
have a compartment
For my body to rest
among the others.
Until one night,
I opened my eyes;
To the many truths
they try to hide from us.
I simply closed my eyes,
Believing in the intoxication
Of freedom, as my shackles
Slowly unchained themselves
From the barrels of my bed.
I've always known I was awake.
I was different from them.
I was me.
