The most masterfully written piece, as voted and determined by the Prose team, will be crowned winner and receive $100. Quality beats quantity, always, but numbers make things easier for our judges, so share, share, share with friends, family, and connections. #ProseChallenge #getlit #itslit
Sonnet Dix-huit, Ma Pro-temps Femme
Shall I compare thee to the taste of squid?
Thou are more tasty and more mucinous.
Harsh heat doth make the catfish overdid,
Crawfish season makes R-months glutinous.
Sometimes the chill is gone when oysters shuck,
Tartar sauce hides well the hepatitides,
Tasting good while eschericia struck
Your beautiful liver and both kidneys.
But thy Zatarain taste shall never wain,
Will scorch my tongue with capsaicin cayenne,
Rush me like a banshee to porcelain
The next morn on my throne it burns again.
So long as men can taste or twang their glands,
Employees must always wash soiled hands.
