Where The Heart Is
A far away place locked up in your mind
Where the people are all wise and kind
Now vested within you senses in pain
Of a long lost country written in your brain
A place to call your own for time to come
Even when the rest of the world loses its fun
Where every step echoes and chants your name
And your heart too beats to the same
Where you learn to bear the people and sounds
A childhood place with a love no longer found
Where the eyes ache to stroll each corner and street
Never growing tired of the people it meets
Where a shanty home once stood with beauty
Now with no people who seemingly lost their duty
To introspect on their lives and peek at their roots
And to return to this desolate bundle of dust and soot
Where even the richest of all cities seem small
Where getting people together takes just one call
Where there's no price to be paid for a gift or hug
And you finally rid yourself of every travel bug
To that place would the wanderer find some peace
Where living and smiling requires no toll or fees
