Road
Give me a road
and I the dumb toad
will pass on the shortcut
carved in the asphalt
"I've driven this direction
my mind's on inspection
and I know its curves
I'll risk the extra mile."
Simply because its new
will I not construe
the courage to drive
upon the virgin path
I've been here before
though quite a bore
I know its soft tilts
the driver's hands are robotic
"Don't mention the minutes
I could save in its
smarter commute
I'll take the long way."
Drifting mindless I see it
a glow within the street it
speaks to me I can't move on
I'll turn here whats another sidetrack?
Shifting to my blinker
I flick to mark my swerve here
and faking my own spunk
I turn the steady wheel
Laughing falsely I try
to gather within me the lie
that I am a fast learner
a student lost in the wilderness
I park though where I don't know
I found that I enjoyed it though
when I turned the key to go
I knew that glow was my own
