I couldn't quite jump that far, as you did, fearless and free within the bounds of sky. I wasn't brave enough, you see. No. I stood at the edge of forest, where trees swayed and birds called and watched you eclipse in front of me. I stood at the edge of the forest and waited for the world to stop so that maybe I could try to jump to you without the world watching me fail and try again. But life doesn't give you that chance. You are expected to be an example for those who watch, without the freedom of solitude. I tried to convince myself that it wasn't so bad. I did make the jump in the end, after countless hours of thinking and hesitating and realized I did it for nothing. You had already reached the bottom and I was destined to do the same.
