Gracie D.
She was a "level three" meaning staff was required to stay with her one on one. The reason was because at the nursing home her eighty-four year old self tried to pull a shelf down (including the TV on top) to kill herself. I am called in to sit with her.
She proceeds to tell me about her life. She was an only child and had no children. Her husband died. She lived alone until confusion and forgetfulness filled her reality.
Suddenly Mexicans filled her home. They had a key and pulled her phone from the wall. Some of them acted as if they were caretakers offering to shower her. She refused!
She cannot remember how she was admitted to a nursing home. She said nurse assistants jerked her ninety-nine pound body around aggressively with no patience. She is concerned that the Mexicans are still in her home.
She is suicidal as she feels she's been stolen from and has out lived every one who ever really knew her. She feels like no one loves her or even cares. Southern Texas has it's problems.
Is she right? Is she delusional?
