The Harry Situation’s Review Guideline: What I Will Never Review
I think now is a good time to establish some guidelines for my Harry Situation Reviews. After writing 100 reviews, and there have been some folks here who've sent me requests, I have to set some boundaries.
Things I Won't EVER Review:
1. Any original books posted here or on other sites.
If you made yourself a book and want me to review it, I'm going to have to respectfully decline. I will, however, read it and then post something about the book in the review section, but it won't be featured as a whole Harry Situation Review. I just don't think I'm qualified to do so. Also there are going to be times where I am far to busy to read, which is why you really don't see too many book reviews from me. Additionally, I would rather not have someone go on a tirade against me due to a simple comment. My apologies prosers but I just can't do a Harry Situation Review for your work; but I am still willing to check it out when I have the time.
2. Pornos
For obvious reasons.
3. Gornos/Torture porn
Just... just no... seriously... just no...
4. Politics & Real World Events
Someone once suggested that I do this, the only problem is I don't really care for politics. Politics bore me. Also how the hell do you do a grading scale for politics? I would have to give everything about the subject an F. Except Ronald Reagan. He's the one shining star that earned an A+.
5. Playstation or Nintendo games
I'm limited to games that are available through XBox One and the PC Master Race. Also since video games is far more expensive than a movie I tend to hold off on that, but I'll make an exception if the game is available on Redbox. Heck, even retro games are off my list unless I remember playing them some time ago. Also relating to what I said in #1 I usually I don't have time to sit down and play video games as I used to when I was younger. Welcome to the adult world, right?
6. Outlast & Outlast 2
Don't get me wrong, I've watched footage of both games and they are in fact great games that know how to scare the crap out of you. The thing is I don't like anything too macabre. Outlast and its sequel are over the top violent games that I'm just not into. Additionally, I'm not too big a fan when it comes to horror games. I can make some exceptions for certain horror games but I won't do Outlast. Sorry.
7. Comic Books
Well to be fair certain comic books. I've already reviewed two webcomics. The thing is reviewing a comic is much harder than a movie or show, especially when you know your readers aren't avid comic book readers like myself. If you want a better person to review comics I recommend that you look up Linkara of Channel Awesome. His videos are awesome.
8. Fifty Shades of Grey
This is the one that I will forever put my foot down. I will never, ever, ever read or watch Fifty Shades of Grey. It is shit. The concept is shit. The fact that it's based on shitty Twilight Fanfiction is shit. The fact that its sole fanbase is horny, single soccer moms is shit. The fact that it is inaccurate to how real BDSM operates is shit. The fact that it glorifies abusive relationships (seriously, look back on everything Christian Grey does and says to Anastasia Steele and tell me he is no way abusing her) is shit. Everything about and related to this series is shit, and I refuse to be drawn into this. Twilight was fucking bad enough, but this... oh my fuck! I can't believe that I live in a universe where Twilight, FUCKING TWILIGHT, is actually a better love story than Fifty Shades of Grey! I will never and forever read or watch this shit, and I will never and forever review this shit!
So that's I have to say on the matter. Please join me next week as the reviews make their epic return, plus one more surprise for everyone! ;)
