To you what is the difference between lonely and alone? Would you prefer being alone other than lonely?

Lonely vs. Alone
You can be lonely in a crowded room. You can be lonely surrounded by loved ones. Being lonely is more of an emotional feeling or act. Being alone is more of a physical feeling.
Personally, per the definition above, I would always prefer being alone over being lonely.
