Salvation
Walking down the street on a lovely Sunday morn
I was going to the church house as per the norm
Saw the pastor and his kids
Walking through the front door
He said "good morning and god bless"
And I couldn't wait to hear more
Said a few hellos and shook hands
Then sat in the front with my friend
But what the preacher man said
He just could not comprehend
"The blood of Christ can wash you clean
He died just for you
There's no price you have to pay
Accepting is all that you do"
He said Man how can that be
You don't even know what I've done
There's no way on earth i could ever
Deserve the grace of the Son
I said Of course that's the truth
But what you don't understand
Is Jesus died for our sins
Yours, mine, and every mans
What you've done doesn't matter
It's about what Jesus has done
He already fought all your battles
And the victory has been won
Your whole life will be changed,
All you need to do is be humble.
There's no easy path you can take,
It's impossible not to stumble
He said "you know what, you're right
Jesus died just for me.
It's like the pain now is gone
And my whole life now is free."
We bowed down together
Prayed and thanked God for his son
'Cause no one is perfect
No, not even one
But he believed that we were
Worthy of his grace and his love
So I don't mind living for him
'Till we rise up above.
