Consummation
**A romantic haiku series re-imagining of the wedding night of Hades, god of the Underworld, and Persephone, goddess of spring. Enjoy! **
(Persephone)
Smoking ember eyes.
You stare at me, ravenous,
starved for fruits of love.
Still, I hesitate.
Other gods might think me plain…
can I satisfy?
Hopeful, I surmise
from your devout, ardent gaze,
hot like sun above,
I can satiate
with love that endearing thirst.
Gladly, I will try.
(Hades)
Shyly, you undress.
My heart bounds into my throat.
Venus pales to you.
Suffocating throb,
lustful blood rushes through me
from my spell-bound heart.
Your sweet blushes bless.
My hot desire swells unchecked...
How I ache for you!
Come to me, my love,
Feed me your forbidden fruit.
Let our passion start.
My goddess, your heart
will be what I seek to please
in giving my own.
Though your touch I crave,
more so, I yearn to delight
you, beloved wife.
I pleasure each part,
Feel you quiver in my arms,
cling, and gasp, and moan.
Love has me enslaved.
Eagerly I serve you, Queen.
Death will give you life.
(Persephone)
You thrill with your touch…
With your kisses, raise goosebumps
on my rosebud skin.
With your gaze you stun….
Tempting whispers in my ear…
Fantasies you rouse…
Your dark locks I clutch,
As I urge you with my eyes
And you enter in…
At last, we are one!
Eternally, I am yours,
My lord, king, and spouse.
