Plunge

The weight I stacked to my chest, in eagerness to witness the shipwreck, now a bane to my oxygen. I ripped at the water, ripped at my vest, an order that refused to obey. My eyes shot open, expecting blood to emerge, but all I saw was the vast ocean.
