Princess to be
Arizona walks to the mailbox, finding the letter she's been waiting for months to come, the letter that tells her that she's going to France for a month. Excited, she runs back to her house to show her mom.
"Mom!!! Guess what came in the mail today?" Ari shouted from the living room.
"What sweetie?" Ari's mom asked while walking to the living room.
"I'm going to France!!! I can't wait!!! What should I pack mom?" Arizona freaked. She rushes to her room to pack her suitcase; putting 30 outfits in the medium suitcase, and bathroom supplies, a camera, and a charger in a book bag.
"Sweetie, you have a week to pack. How about you wait until you know more about the trip?" Arizona's mom stated.
"I wanna be ready just in case. You know how I like to plan ahead." Arizona told her mom.
When she gets off the plane, she takes a breath. Taking in the new smells, she walks toshe walks to the closest taxi rank and gets in.
She tells the driver, "I'm going to the artemisia."
As she goes through the town, she looks out the window of the taxi and sees all the beautiful scenery.
She asks the driver, "what was that big building that we just passed?"
"That was the Synagogue Church Of All Nations." He responded.
She quickly wrote that down on her notebook to keep track of places to visit during her trip. As they approached the hotel, she paid the driver and gathered her items. The driver helped her gather her suitcase out of the trunk and took it to the door of the hotel.
He wished her a happy visit and then left. Soon, the doorman opened the door and helped her get her bags to the cart and took her up to her room and asked if there was anything she wanted.
She looked at the room, analyzed what she had and what she didn't, and asked, "Could I have a bottle of wine?"
He nodded and walked away after giving her the card to her room. She walked in, looking at the fancy design of the room. What stood out the most to her, was the amazing view of the village and the mountains. She laid on the bed, exhausted from the trip, and slowly fell asleep.
A few hours went by before she woke up. And when she saw what time it was, she freaked out that she didn't have anything to eat in the hotel room. So quickly, she got her shoes on and walked to the farmers market to get some food to eat.
Once she had some meat and seasonings and vegetables to make dinner, she paid and walked back to the artemisia . When she got back, she took her shoes off because her feet were throbbing from walking so much.
I forgot how much I hate exercise. I really need to find an easier way to get everywhere.
When she made herself some lemon cumin chicken with grilled asparagus, she took a bite and remembered how her mom used to make it. Suddenly, she missed her mom. Arizona picked her phone up, to only see that it was dead.
So, waiting for it to charge, she sat on the couch and turned the tv on. Flipping through the channels, realizing that there was nothing in English, she turned the tv off and went down to the main entrance.
Looking for the doorman, she ran into a handsome young man. She apologized under her breath and he turned around, "excuse me, aren't you going to apologize?"
"I did, it's not my fault that you didn't hear me." Arizona snapped back.
Peter looked at her and just turned to stone. "Did you come from America?" He asked quietly.
"Yes, why?" Arizona responded.
"I'm so sorry for being so rude to you. How about I take you out to dinner to apologize?" He stuttered.
"Uh...I just had dinner. But thank you." She answered quickly.
Arizona tried to walk away but he grabbed her arm before she got too far away. She gasped in fear, "please let go of me."
"I'm sorry, I just can't let my stupidity go unanswered for." He stated plainly. "Please, if not dinner then let me take you for dessert." He begged.
She saw the desperation in his deep, mahogany brown eyes. Finally, she sighed in defeat, "fine. I'll go to dessert with you. But don't try anything. Just because I'm going with you doesn't mean I'm going to do anything you want."
He smiled broadly, showing his sparkling white teeth. "That's great!" He almost shouted. He scrunched his shoulders up towards his face, "Oops..." he smiled a little awkward smile.
As he took her hand, he walked her towards a beautiful, dark purple car. She asked him, "what kind of car is this?"
He smiled a devilish smile, and answered honestly, "it's a Porsche 918 spyder. Why?"
"How did you afford this? It's like almost a million dollars in America!" She exclaimed.
"It's easy with what I do." He responded. He helped her sit down in the car and then walked to his side and started the car.
As they drove down the road, she took in the scenery again. When she went to reach for her notebook, she realized that she didn't have her bag with her. Scared, she asked if they could turn around.
"Did you forget something?" Peter asked.
While he was getting the car turned around, she stated "I forgot my purse."
"Oh that's fine, I can pay for us." He responded with a smile in his voice.
"Thank you, but I also need my phone and my notebook." She chuckled.
He looked at her with a puzzled look on his face, "why do you need a notebook?" He asked.
"To write down places I want to visit while I'm here." She answered honestly.
"Ah, okay. I can understand that. Even though I live here, I haven't seen everywhere. So how about I take you on a tour after dessert?" He offered.
"That sounds amazing! I would love that!" She exclaimed with a smile on her face.
"Then it's a date. I'm glad you came out with me." He smirked. "I would've been home bored if you had kept saying no." His face dropped.
"Really? Why?" She asked honestly.
He quickly looked over to her light brown hair, waving in the wind as they drive to the restaurant. "My parents don't really like me going out much." He stated quietly.
"Why? Are they too strict on you?" Arizona asked as she became concerned for him.
"No, it's just a little dangerous every now and again for me." He said mysteriously.
"Am I going to get cryptic answers all night?" She chuckled.
They pulled up to the restaurant and he helped her out the car. Peter handed the car keys to the valet and walks with Arizona into the restaurant.
People started to stare as he walked in. She was starting to worry that he was a well known criminal around the area. So she asked him, "why is everyone staring at us?"
"Don't worry about it. But I will be right back, don't move." He stated. She stared at him as he walked away.
A woman walks up to her and asks her if she wanted to be seated, "Not yet. I'm waiting on my date to come back." She stated.
A few minutes later, peter walked back with an older gentleman who had salt and pepper hair and a short beard. "He's gonna give us a private room." He stated.
They were led to the back of the restaurant where they were all alone and he placed the order for them both.
When the man walked away, she bombarded peter with questions, "why were those people staring at us? What do you do for work? How are you able to afford all of this?"
He just put his finger to his mouth and she quieted down. When she was quiet, he just said, "I'm giving you a tour after this. You'll get your answers then."
She was about to say something, but the dessert came and they started eating. Changing the topic into a lighter subject, she asked him "what made you come to the hotel today?"
"I had business to attend to." And then he sat up in fear. "Oh shit! I totally forgot about that!"
"What happened? Are you okay?" Arizona asked worriedly.
Peter asks, "do you mind if I take you back to the hotel and we can take the tour after I'm done my business issue?"
"Definitely. As long as I can come with you to your business issue?" She said seriously.
"Uh, I'll have to see if it's allowed first." Peter stumbled. He gathered their belongings and led her to the exit. "I'll get the car if you wait here." He explained.
She nodded as he walked away. A woman walked up to Arizona and asked, "how did you get so lucky to have a fiancée like the prince?"
"What do you mean?" She asked in confusion.
The lady chuckled and stated, "I guess you two aren't who I thought you were then." As she saw the car arriving, she walked away.
When Peter got out of the car, he helped Arizona to her side and let her in. She still had the confused look on her face when he looked at her.
"What's wrong?" He asked worriedly. "Did that lady bother you at all?"
"No, your highness. She didn't." She huffed.
