A United State
rededicated to the victims of the Charlottesville attack.
In memory of:
Heather Heyer,
H. Jay Cullen,
Berke M.M. Bates.
Love will always be
light and light,
Where hate is sewn-in
dark and tight.
The windows
to the world...
Reflect rainbows
all swirled…
Around a single hope
that always grows,
One day to sever
all ropes from gallows.
An era where we
control: “alt-delete,”
The ignorant cries
of: “this is our street.”
Accepting as equal
our neighbors to foil,
Any hateful demands
for blood and for soil.
Where prejudice is replaced
and brought to tatters,
By the practice and belief
that all love matters.
Blocking insults to injury
and adopting a pact,
To embrace all humanity
as a resolute act.
For when we finally unite
to flock together,
It shall be as one bird
of many different feathers.
