Paying Compliments
Please don’t take my words out of context; I’m not trying to be presumptuous
But believe me when I say I find your smile infectious
Or if I say your sense of humour is contagious
I’m not trying to hit you up or being pretentious
Unlike the movies we’re friends strictly platonic not Eros
But I can’t blame you for being unsure
Question everything even my honest intentions are smeared with hidden motives
I don’t know anymore
I just don’t know how to admire a female’s beauty without it being lust
I just don’t know if it’s a matter of being misunderstood or a lack of trust
I just don’t know how to appreciate the exquisite nature of their physique
Without thinking of it as a target of physical conquest to be possessed
I just don’t know any more if I have the ability to pay tribute without second guessing
Wishing I could just marvel at the many ways in which God demonstrates his blessing
You know that’s a product of divine craftsmanship deserving of complimenting
Not snide remarks clothed as compliments pity I was too misogynistic learn this lesson
That a well tailored ensemble is just as attractive as lingerie or skimpy dressing
To feel the warmth of an embrace whilst still having respect for personal space
But apart from the physique of the female there are so many other things
About her that you could compliment, like the way how she thinks
You see nowadays in the world you can’t settle just for pretty
Because pretty girls are a dime a dozen you got to find one who is witty
A girl’s pulchritude isn’t just her looks, is also her fondness of books
It isn’t measured by only her fashion but can be seen in her dreams, her ambition, and her passion
Her true beauty isn’t just make-up and lipstick; it’s also her great taste in music
Yes she is attractive but more importantly she is just as talented as she is creative
Yeah she is out-of-this-world pretty but is she down to earth? Does she know what she’s worth?
Of course she is sexy but can she restore my faith in humanity
She is undoubtedly appealing, but are her conversations really inspiring?
Many of us have beauty as a misnomer cause when I think of Beauty and what it represents
There are certain words that comes to mind like Intelligence, Competence, Independence, Eloquence and Confidence
Remember that True beauty is not just limited to physical appearance when paying compliments
