Challenge
Compose a sonnet of your true love.
Winner gets spotlighted.
When Time Began
You came to me before I knew of time.
I found you on a clock’s unnumbered face,
And as we fell there was a cruel chime.
The hands and dials marching to their place.
You lay beside me in seconds gone by,
I feel you in the hours that have passed.
The sun and moon trade places in the sky,
Reminding me I cannot make you last.
But, there are nights when moments do stand still,
And you are full before me, without end.
I try to fool the clock, its steady will,
To memorize you, revel and transcend.
But secretly, I know, beyond my idle rebuffs,
That no amount of time will ever be enough.
