Write a Villanelle
A villanelle is a nineteen-line poem with two repeating rhymes and two refrains. The form is made up of five tercets followed by a quatrain. The first and third lines of the opening tercet are repeated alternately in the last lines of the succeeding stanzas; then in the final stanza, the refrain serves as the poem’s two concluding lines. (Ex. Dylan Thomas's "Do not go gentle into that goodnight") All topics are accepted.

I’ll Stay Here Right With You

I'll stay here right with you

Nestled on top to keep you warm

Nice and safe from the coming storm

You will soon hatch into your new world

Have no fear, you won't be alone

I'll stay here right with you

The storm eats up our sun

Across our dusty land

No rain to come, only sand

The sands fly wild with the wind

It's harder to see, but fear not my dears

I'll stay here right with you

This storm is now violent

My feathers are ruffled from this

No worries, no grain will touch your oval surface

The howling sands rage on

It's harder to breathe, but never fret my dears

I'll stay here right with you

As our time together finally fades
