Challenge
you.
I love the second person point of view because it is so universal: it could be anyone; it could even be ourselves. My challenge for you: write a piece of poetry or prose so ambiguous that the "you" could apply to anyone, everyone, or no one at all.
Who?
You sweep yourself across the floor,
You heap and drag yourself through the door,
You weep, you sigh,
You laugh, you cry,
You stand up tall,
You crouch real small,
You run and hide,
You show your pride,
You walk amongst the giants of time,
You are forgotten on the drop of a dime,
You are the sun,
You are someone's fun,
You are the moon,
You make the ladies swoon,
You are a vinx that others envy,
You are the eye-catcher of many,
You are lonely and sad,
You are daring and bad,
You are the light and the day,
You are the moon and the night,
You are the fighting spirit of today,
You are the grieving silence in the aftermath of the fight.
