House of glass
Everyone seems to live
in a house of glass,
never leaving,
but always watching,
judging.
We call it the
American Dream,
to be truly free
to do as you please,
and yet when others
do the same:
Unacceptable.
Because it's not my Dream.
Everyone seems to live
in a house of glass,
never seeing,
but always watching,
like an eagle
hunting for dinner,
they prey upon those
who don't know how to hunt,
or that would rather fish.
Everyone seems to live
in a house of glass,
never okay,
but always struggling,
desperate for respect,
but never showing it,
because it is something
"we deserve."
But if that was the case,
Eagles would not have to hunt,
for fish would be simply
given to them,
lords of the sea,
despite the metropolis of life,
beneath the crystaline floor
of the sky.
