Roundtable Wednesday
Keep in mind, I am looking for more writer’s to partake in
Roundtable Wednesday. One day, I will be knocking on your door!

This month, I wish to introduce to you a young girl by the name of Samina.
At 15, she has far surpassed many people with her work here on Prose,
but it doesn’t change her attitude on how she approaches people.
She is a joy to talk with, very creative, funny,
and she cares deeply for those who are close to her.
Please, give her a warm welcome and check out her work!

The always big question put to any writer is how long have you been writing and why do you write?
This is an interesting question. My first writing was a composition consisting of 5 lines about my mother. My mother has always encouraged me to write and express myself. She pursed me to participate in Write the World competition. I gladly did so. But since I joined WtW, my way of seeing writing has changed. Now I guess there’s no looking back.
Who are your favorite authors and please; give us a few names?
Ahh, this is a hard question. I love classics like Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. One of my favorite novels is The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. I have grown up reading many authors like Roald Dahl, Ruskin Bond and so many others that I can’t possibly name them.
Any favorite songs/artists?
One disclaimer my favorite songs keeps on changing daily till I feel sick of them. Anyway, I love the song Vienna. It’s always encouraging. My favorite artist would be Alec Benjamin and Billie Eilish (should I even mention Taylor Swift). Recently I have been addicted to Conon Gray, Harry Styles, Anson Seabra, Shawn Mendes. My choice of music is all over the place. If you would like to see some other favorite song of mine then you could check out these playlists,

Do you have any literary work on tap for publication, or have been published?
My first publication was in 7th grade in the magazine, skipping stones. It was a poem about my grandmother’s henna plant, showing its significance in India. Then I had a poem published in Ice Lolly Reviews. I have been featured on Kids Fun World and In The Write Blog. I just got a poem published on Potted Purple (pg. 73). Recently, I got my work published on All Ears India website. If you want to know the latest updates then you could check out my Link Tree.
When you aren’t writing, what do you do that pays the bills?
Honestly, I am just 15 so I am minor and don’t pay my bills lol.
Can you shed some light about yourself that other people here can get a feel for who you are?
My name is Samina Parveen. I am a student of class 10th. I am a 15-year-old girl. I want to be someone who people remember. I believe in the existence of perfection and I want to achieve it. Besides writing, I have learned some video-making and graphic designing. I was a DJ at my school. I am a blackbelt in karate, stay away from me people LOL. I could dance and cook some pasta also. I am everything I need.
Describe yourself in three words.
Weird, innovative, overthinker
How long have you been on Prose?
My first post dates back to March/April. It has been 9 months. I love this community. Everyone is very supportive and sweet.
When you hear the term “less is more” … what do you think about?
Less hard work but more smart work. I hope that makes sense.
Are there places as far as social media accounts, perhaps your own website you would like Proser’s to be aware of where you can be found?
This is my link tree. It has all links to my socials like YouTube, Instagram, and I also run a blog called Inertia teens website.
What is the single most thing you like?
I love writing, movies, and songs.
What is one thing you really dislike?
To be honest, a quite random answer but I hate Justin Bieber. I don’t have a proper justification, but I think he’s way too overrated. I dislike people who are racist, homophobic, sexist. Particularly I hate taboos. Taboos about mental health, body shaming, it’s a long list. One day I would like to change it.
With Covid surrounding us, what advice would you want to share with people?
People do what you want to and discover yourself. Everything will be alright once you start believing in yourself. One day you will achieve what you want.
If you could offer up one piece of advice for other writers, what would it be?
Consistency is very essential to achieve perfection.
Lastly, your favorite quote?
My favorite quotes are:
“Paper is more patient than man" ~ Anne Frank
“You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world...but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.” — John Green
Thank you so much, Samina for taking part in Roundtable Wednesday!
Now for those of you unfamiliar with her work,
here is one of her earlier works.
as I peeped outside my window
as I peeped outside my window
the wet dew on leaves of the tree,
I watched them with a cup of tea.
a group of birds sat on the window pale
the birds chirped under the sunlight.
one was blessed with feathers pure white,
it seemed to me like it was a message of unity
I think it came to unite the community.
in the time of despair
he birds feel something different in the air
“oh the sky so clear, washed away my tear,
mom, I can breathe, seems like a dream”
so exclaimed baby bird to her mother.
it made me feel,
do we pollute the Earth just for our greed?
do we have feelings, at least somewhere underneath?
we are so selfish humans have defiled the air we breathe,
now when we return to normal life there is a need,
to undo our dirty deeds,
if we do it with maximum speed
we will need numerous years, indeed!
