Temple Of The Damned
It’s lost and gained so much;
This me;
This body, heart and soul.
Not only pounds,
But blood and guts;
It’s birthed a mighty toll.
It can lift it’s weight in crates or stone
And out-drink a salloon.
It tears up at the drop of hats.
Tchaikovsky makes it swoon.
It’s midsection resembles
A deflaterwrecked balloon...
It bears scars ample to distress
The heartiest of knights.
But if you’re worried for it;
For it’s shames and maimly plights;
-Don’t fret- It’s grown accustomed
To the warmth of love at nights.
And even though I treat it
Like a dragged-and-battered toy...
It holds my pain.
My failure.
My past.
My pride.
My joy.
