Winters garden of barren trees
stare back at me
as I wonder
if the world really is
as cold as it seems?
Finding cruelty
in the sunrise
as it counts down
the hours I grieve
watching the ice melt
in such comforting tones
as the mourning awakes
a piece of me lets go
