I will not be shaken.
Testimonies are tuff
It’s hard to say JESUS when it’s true
that I can get away with saying GOD all the time
Growing up GOD was hard to grasp
It’s hard to pray when I don’t know who
I’m asking to intercede on my behalf
The TRINITY was even harder
I always felt on the cusp of getting it
but kept coming up short on who to call LORD
GOOD GOD I remember
Standing there searching the obverse{a} upturned, stepping
- tripping forward into faith because of the look on Goodacre’s face
Trust for me is ROOTED
In what I did see: A dollar struck
by the LIGHT just precisely as I believed
Gladness emboldens me by the same token as the mighty King of Spades{b};
I am sure it was HAPPENSTANCE ~
my LORD’s Presentation face.

{a} - The obverse or heads-side design of the first “Golden Dollar” by Glenna Goodacre features Sakakawea with her son, Jean Baptiste. The coin was first minted in 2000 with the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. A set of 5,500 Presentation dollars struck in Philadelphia using an experimental wash, giving these a luminescent, brassy-gold finish which is prone to tarnishing.
{b} - Since the 1500s, the King of Spades in ‘portrait officiel’ depicts King David, prophet-king of Israel. Psalm 16:5-8 | ”5 Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. 7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”
