Cats Up and Down
A cat in a house
Pampered and fed
A cat in the street
Scowling for a morsel of bread
Where do you live?
I live in the heights
Anything you can forgive?
I didn't choose the nights
Whose heart is big enough
To take on both?
To pair the timid with the tough
And help them in growth?
Under the balcony eyes stare
At a milkway of aspiration
Shrouded by a tree's green fanfare
Turned to a different situation
The cat on the street looks higher
The one in the house looks at the sky
In cats, like men, desire
Deserves its right to hope high
