Dreadnoughtus
Name: Dreadnaughtus (Dread-Not-Tus)
Name Meaning: "Fear Nothing"
Dreadnoughtus was a large sauropod dinosaur that lived in Argentina during the Late Cretaceous (roughly 88-66 million years ago). This was one of the largest dinosaurs that ever lived, weighing at 65 tons (59,300 kg) and growing in 85 feet (26 m) in length. This dinosaur certainly lived up to its name as predators would think twice before attempting to tackle this behemoth. But fear not, this dinosaur, like all sauropods, were herbivores, grazing on top tree tops.
Dreadnoughtus belongs to a sauropod family called titanosaurs, which are the only known sauropod family to live beyond the Jurassic Period since that was the time period most sauropod dinosaurs were discovered in.
