Gratitude Journal For The Week of 8/9/2021
A Church I follow has an app (Crossroads Anywhere) where we journal together as a community, and one of the things we journal about are things we are thankful for. I wrote these for this week's prompts from the app....

"What are you looking forward to this week?"
- Giving my students moving up after this week a good send off.
- Spending time with my family.
- The new manga chapter for My Hero Academia that drops later today.
- Finding out if the short story I submitted to a contest last week gets approved to be on the Reedsy.com database.

"What are you grateful for today?"
Coffee that was ready to go last night, a birthday party to celebrate for a student today, and a family that I love deeply to return home to tonight after work.

"What made you smile or laugh this week?"
- Goofy moments in the anime Bleach.
- Having fun joking around with students.
- Precious silly moments at home with family.

"How did someone help you this week?"
This week was our last Water Day, and helping a overexcited group of 3, 4 and 5 year olds get changed back into dry clothes is extremely challenging. I am thankful for the teacher that helped me get this done yesterday - there is no way I could have succeeded without her help.

Affirmation: "God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control."
"Is there anything you would like to thank God for this week?"
I am thankful that I have completed my school year as of yesterday, and that I received some nice compliments from some of my students' parents. I will trust God to help and guide me in the new school year starting next week.

"Think of a memory with your grandparent."
I remember playing cards with my Grampa, and it was fun because while everyone else was super competitive, he would never get fazed about it. No matter how the night went as far as winning or losing, he would like to say "This is a good game to win." I feel like my attitude towards competitive games and sportsmanship was inspired by him, and I thank God for the years I got to grow up with my grandfather.
