Qianzhousaurus
Name: Qianzhosaurus (Key-an-su-sawr-us)
Name means: “Qianzho Lizard”
Qianzhosaurus was a medium sized bipedal theropod dinosaur that lived in the China during the Late Cretaceous (66 million years ago). This dinosaur was a cousin to the famous Tyrannosaurus rex of North America. It grew to approximately 21 feet in length (7m) and weighing about 3-4 tons. Like its much larger, North American cousin, this dinosaur was carnivorous, stalking and preying on other dinosaurs such as hadrosaurs, ceratopsians, ankylosaurs, and orthinomimids.
First discovered back in 2014, it is most identified by its long snout, longer than most tyrannosaurids, which earned it the nickname “Pinnochio rex”. The length of the skull measured to 95cm in length, about the length of two dachshunds.
This dinosaur will also make its first appearance in the upcoming video game Jurassic World Evolution 2, which I'm really excited for.
