Mexican Death
In Mexico I died, but I left with joy,
My friends, my family,
a kid with a toy.
They were all crying,
but then remembered,
that death is the biggest party.
Everyone is here, so we might as well celebrate
sweet bread, beer and the best food,
bring it all out and let's say "salud."
"For my brother who was smart,
I want to dedicate this toast,"
"and to my son who is in a better place
and left with peace at the most."
I heard the music all night,
the mariachis were the best,
and filled my heart with joy,
and now I can just rest.
I had a Mexican death,
the most beautiful kind,
with colors, food, and rhymes,
I know I will no be left behind.
