Focal length of the MFT lens

The "focal length" is the distance from the center of the lens to the point (focal length) that connects the image. If the distance is short, it will be a wide-angle lens, and if it is long, it will be a telephoto lens. The focal length of the lens is roughly divided into three. Choose a lens with the appropriate focal length according to the size of the subject you want to shoot and the size of the scenery.

Micro Four Thirds lens is half the length

We mentioned that the Micro Four Thirds system is about half the length of one side of the sensor size as the full size, but keep in mind that the focal length of the lens is also "half". In other words, if you want the same angle of view as the full size, you need to choose a lens with half the focal length at Micro Four Thirds. For example, if you want a full-frame equivalent of 28mm angle of view, choose 14mm for Micro Four Thirds lenses.

Standard 25mm/50mm is equivalent (35mm judged conversion)

It is a lens with a focal length equivalent to 25 mm in Micro Four Thirds and 50 mm in 35 mm (full size) conversion. It is close to the view seen with the naked eye and can be said to be the standard focal length of a camera lens. There are various situations that can be used, such as daily snaps and intimate portraits. Since it is easy to handle even for beginners, each manufacturer is focusing on development.

Wide-angle lens Approximately 5 to 17.5 mm / 10 to 35 mm equivalent (35 mm format equivalent)

A wide-angle lens that allows you to take a large picture of the scenery on a wide screen. It is used for taking a bird's-eye view of the natural landscape and townscape, and for taking pictures of the sky. In addition, this lens is useful in scenes where it is difficult to get away from the subject, such as indoors. There are some weaknesses in the image that are prone to distortion, but you can also accentuate unique nuances, such as portraits that take advantage of this. Keep in mind that the smaller the number, the wider and larger the scenery.

Medium telephoto / telephoto lens Approximately 35mm ~ / Approximately 70mm equivalent ~ (35mm format equivalent)

Medium telephoto is for shooting farther than the standard focal length. Telephoto and super-telephoto lenses are used to shoot subjects that are farther away and invisible to the human eye. It is used for athletic meet, outdoor sports, and photography of distant creatures and railroads. From medium telephoto to telephoto, the farther the focal length is, the longer and larger the lens tends to be, and the higher the price.
