My Voyage Back To You
There were clear skies this Sunday, perfect for my plan. I went to my car, and started to drive to your place. It’s been a year since we’ve separated, and I learned a lot of things without you.
Along the way, I remembered the little things that I had shared with you. That time when you danced with me at the ball, or when we were relaxed by the hum of a bumblebee while having a picnic.
But then I remembered the fights we had, those times when you had no doubt about it. My affair I so resented, you even told me, “I can be that woman.” And when you left our house and separated from you, the only words that left my mouth was, “Keep an eye on Dan.”
And when I realized I was close to your home, I sang “Ode to Freedom,” so to calm me from my nervousness. Leaving the car, I imagined you looking at me through the window, but that was just a notion.
I then knocked at the door, telling you, “Don’t shut me down.” And I hope that when you open the door, and when our eyes meet, I hope that you can say, “I still have faith in you.”
