Two Years to the Day
It’s been two years to the day
since you drew your last breath.
Closed your eyes for the last time.
Since there was warmth in your hands
a beat in your heart.
We were all there, and held your hands
and said good bye.
On that cold winters eve, blanketed in
pristine white.
For a moment, no words were spoken just tears.
For a fleeting moment I thought I had lost my mind.
I felt a hole in my soul.
Then I saw the breaking hearts around me and knew I was not alone.
I was not the only one torn in that moment of anguish and sorrow.
For a moment, no words were spoken just tears.
On that cold winters eve, blanketed in
pristine white.
We were all there, and held your hands
and said good bye.
