before being here now

i was there then

i was light and free

i was an orange butterfly

i was a purple pigeon

i was everything and nothing

i didn't need to check my phone

i didn't need to return a message

i didn't need to post a photo

i didn't need to check things off a list

there was no list

just a free floating calm

just a tranquil hum

before i was born

i had everything i needed
