Casemiro officially left Real Madrid and officially joined Manchester United
Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid. The Brazilian and Los Blancos have accepted the offer that came in from Old Trafford and the midfielder is leaving what has been his home since 2013. The player will leave shortly on a flight to Manchester to be presented by the Premier League club. Madrid will receive around €70m (fixed) for the player, who will turn 31 in February.
Manchester United have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign midfielder Casemiro.
United will pay £70m (£60m plus £10m in add-ons) for the 30-year-old. The transfer is subject to the agreement of personal terms, UK visa requirements and a medical.
The Red Devils began to make their move, slowly but surely, at the beginning of August.
It's then that United understood Casemiro was open to a transfer, as he felt his time at Los Blancos was coming to an end.
No doubt, Casemiro's new contract also played a key role in the decision.
The Brazilian will receive around double (just under) his current salary for the next four seasons with an option for another, while his contract with Madrid expired in 2025.
Casemiro at Madrid: 18 titles and 46.6 million in profit
Manchester United made sure to approach Casemiro first, as they believed his excellent relationship with Madrid management would help facilitate a move.
Florentino Perez in particular is very fond of the Brazilian, who helped him during the pandemic.
When Sergio Ramos, who was upset with how his contract renewal was going, wasn't keen to take a second pay cut, Casemiro acted as a link between the squad and the president.
As a result, Madrid understood the Brazilian's intention right away as he showed no hesitation in pushing for a move to Manchester.
Given what the midfielder has accomplished in Spain, they allowed him to decide his own future, especially since the proposed contract was almost impossible to turn down.
Real Madrid will receive around 60 million euros and 10 more in variables for a player that was signed for 6.5 million and briefly appeared for Castilla.
He brought in 600,000 euros when he joined Porto on loan, and then cost another 7.5 million when he was brought back to Real Madrid after the Portuguese side exercised their option to buy him.
In other words, Casemiro cost 13.4 million euros, meaning his sale will generate a profit of 46.6 million euros after winning 18 titles (five Champions League titles, three LaLiga Santander titles, three Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, three Spanish Super Cups and one Copa del Rey).

Real Madrid is and always will be his home, and we wish him and all his family the best of luck in this new chapter of his life.
Real Madrid announced an "institutional act of homage and farewell to Casemiro will take place at Real Madrid City on Monday morning, with the presence of club president Florentino Perez".
Casemiro joined Real Madrid in 2013 and won three La Liga titles and the Champions League five times.
Ancelotti: Casemiro wants new challenge
Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed earlier on Friday that Casemiro was set to leave Real Madrid to pursue a "new challenge".
"I talked to (Casemiro) this morning," Ancelotti said. "He wants to try a new challenge, a new opportunity. I and the club understand it.
"With what he's done at this club and the person he is, we have to respect it. There are talks right now, nothing is official, but he wants to leave. We wish him all the best in his next challenge."

United are hoping Casemiro can have an immediate impact on Erik ten Hag’s side, who currently sit bottom of the Premier League. With his departure, Madrid’s famous midfield trio with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos has been broken, the Bermuda Triangle as Carlo Ancelotti himself called it on preseason. Since learning that United were interested in Casemiro, Madrid have been studying the market looking for possible replacements. As reported by AS, they have sounded out the possible signing of Bruno Guimaraes, one of Newcastle’s best players.
Casemiro leaves Real Madrid with an impressive track record: Five Champions Leagues, three league titles, one Copa del Rey, three Club World Cups, three European Super Cups and three Spanish Super Cups. His last title came on 10 August in Helsinki, when Madrid won the Super Cup and he earned himself the Man of the Match award.
