A contest for writers

How can that be

Aren’t all writers

To be praised

For they wrote

What they could not say

Isn’t everyone’s writing

A work of art in someone’s eyes

Who is to say what is good

Opinions are all anyone gives

Some like what you write

And some may cringe

It’s all a matter of opinions

And all writing should be praised

For the writer took the time to write it

And some people’s words

Never even find their way to a page

A contest to see who is the best

Why aren’t all writers’ winners

Are you saying some are less than others

I say we are all extremely good

In my opinion and some others

I’m not better than you

And you’re not better than me

We just all write differently

A contest for writers

Then I say

Congratulations to us all

For we are all writers and winners
