Poems of the Fall
This is for those that aren't a fan of the horror genre. Halloween is set in fall, probably my favorite time of the year. So instead of writing a spooky poem, see if you can write a poem about fall. Write about what you love about this time of year.

Autumn

Azure skies

Frosty morn

The sun's own heat

until gloaming dusk's streak

Ebony elms in golden leaf

Maple red foliage

Against pine's evergreen

Farmer's market stalls

overflowing with color

Squash, pumpkin, carrots

Potato and onion soup

Chrysanthemum's yellow eyes

marching a row

up to home's door softly a glow

Bright crimson rose hips

Tangy apple tea

Jars of preserves

Rewards for summers labor

A turkey's red snood

As he calls swift warning

Gobbling above dry forest crunch

Every cranny of Mother Nature's earth

bursting bounty of ripeness diverse

as sleep beckons all before spring's rebirth

and a brisk breeze prattles of winter's cold curse
