There are always exceptions

To every rule,

However, even this assertion

Has an asterisk, too.

“Come home when the streetlights

Go on.” This order

Had no loopholes, until a crash hit

Over the years, I leaned on exceptions to

Too many rules,

Then looked in the mirror and rued all the

Overruled rules.
