Opposition
Two aspects of a shared moment,
Who is better?
Not a rival but a Crow upon my shoulder,
Daring me to to hit the ceiling and destroy it,
The mirror of my shadow's portrait,
As they run ahead of me,
The need to burn higher,
And glow up until they are blinded,
Evergreen woods that are the platform,
Only one can master it,
As they keep on challenging me,
Dirt sticking to our shoes is a kiss from the terrain,
The smirk on their face is a symbol of opposition,
Same outcome but for different reasons,
Winning for me is about making a difference,
For them it's just to be the victor,
I'm grateful, it's a reminder of not what to become,
They are my rival,
But also a reflection.
